The unexpected alliance: Jimmy Choo, Michael Kors, Versace and Kate Spade

Behind the scenes: Why the fashion industry is merging

In the hustle and bustle of the fashion world, it’s all about securing the future. The merger allows the companies to pool their resources and invest in new growth opportunities. This merger means more opportunities for models to be booked by different brands and opens new doors for creative collaboration.

Maison Margiela Show – Maison Margiela, known for its unconventional approach and strong artistic identity, has turned the fashion world on its head! The fashion show at Paris Haute Couture Week by designer John Galliano captivated the audience with its unique presentation and proved that you can tell incredible stories with fashion. In this article, we explain what made the show so special and why it changed the fashion industry forever.

Margiela Runway in the pub: Paris 1920

John Galliano, the creative mind behind Maison Margiela, has traveled back in time to 1920s Paris for the spring/summer 2024 Artisanal show. The backdrop: Under the Pont Alexandre III, where an old 1920s-style pub was recreated. With rickety chairs, mysterious cocktails and weathered mirrors, Galliano transported the audience to a bygone era.

Now for the show and the new haute couture collection!

Models made up as dolls

A special role was played by the make-up, which was created by renowned make-up artist Pat McGrath. McGrath created looks that made the models look like porcelain dolls. With pastel-colored eyes and lips and shiny, almost perfect skin, she caused a stir and speculation on social media as to what the secret behind the make-up might be. The internet and all fashion lovers agree on one thing: the models look incredibly good and captivate everyone who looks at them.

Designer John Galliano & Maison Margiela

John Galliano is a legend in the fashion world. His creative vision and talent have secured him a permanent place in the history of haute couture. Since being appointed creative director of Maison Margiela in 2014, he has continued the fashion house’s legacy with innovative designs and avant-garde concepts. Maison Margiela itself was founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela and has since established itself as one of the leading forces in fashion, combining tradition with innovation and always pushing the boundaries of convention.

You want to become a manager for influencer marketing and social media marketing? You’ve come to the right place for an internship or training in Cologne! Our customers approached us early on about “Social Media Marketing” and so we have constantly developed further. Today our Influencer division reaches several million people, in Germany alone. Influencer marketing is still such a new area that there are very few experts. For this reason, we are also more frequently invited to lectures or workshops in companies that want to further their employees with further education or training. Social media marketing is the most modern form of marketing, as a sub-discipline of online marketing, it deals primarily with people and group dynamics. In contrast to poster advertising, this is about very individual concepts. Every blogger is different, has his own opinion, ideas and wishes. As an influencer manager, you have to respect all this and find solutions together with the blogger and the customer. At the same time, you must learn to develop concepts and strategies that will appeal not only to bloggers and customers, but also to 100,000 or millions of followers. Read more about the job and career opportunities of an Influencer Marketing Manager under Career Information and Requirements.

Posing tips for models – When it comes to posing in front of the camera, there are a few tricks and techniques that models can use to maximize their presence and expressiveness. This article introduces some of these tips that can help you succeed in photo shoots or castings.

3 basics for posing for photo shoots

    Posture and naturalness

Make sure your posture is upright and confident. Stand up straight, pull your shoulders back slightly and raise your head slightly. This conveys self-confidence and elegance. Try to look natural in your poses. Avoid exaggerated or stiff poses, which can look unnatural. Remember that you can move and relax while the photographer is taking pictures.

    Facial expression and eye contact

    Experiment with different facial expressions(mimicry).

    1. Smile
    2. Look serious
    3. Have a thoughtful effect

    – depending on the requirements of the shoot. Your facial expression can greatly influence the mood of the photo.

Your gaze is a crucial element of your poses. Direct your gaze at the camera or, if desired, at a specific point in the room. Direct eye contact can create a strong connection with the viewer. Many up-and-coming models don’t seek eye contact, yet it makes images so much more powerful.

    Hand and arm positions

Pay attention to what you do with your hands and arms. Try not to just leave them hanging, but place them strategically to create an interesting pose. Experiment with different positions to suit your look and the mood of the shoot.

For this to work naturally, there is only one thing to do: practise, practise, practise!

    Here are our tips:

Finding perfect facial expressions: Facial expressions

An important aspect of successful posing is how you present your face. Here are two steps that can help you with this:

    Use the camera grid function

Let’s start simple: use your smartphone! Modern smartphones often offer a grid function in the camera app. This function helps you to find the best angle for your face. Place your face in the center of a square and then move it from square to square, taking a photo each time. This allows you to identify the angle that shows off your face to its best advantage.

Change your facial expressions to find out which emotions suit you best. Try different expressions, from a smile to a serious look. Choosing the right facial expression can have a significant impact on the final result.

    Now the most important thing:

    Remember what looks good!

    Even later with jobs.

When photographers praise you or you hear a “wow”, memorize your posing and facial expressions. You can use these again in new shoots. Believe me, customers will be thrilled.

Posing & facial expressions: Exercise in front of the mirror

A mirror can be a valuable tool for practicing poses and improving your posture. Pay particular attention to your hand position. Try to move your hands elegantly and fluidly instead of holding them stiffly. Small changes in hand position can make a big difference to the overall effect of your pose.

Courage to be creative: Be creative and courageous with your movements. Try out unconventional poses and don’t be afraid to try something new.

Now back to the most important thing:

    Remember what looks good!

The more often you practice, the more automatically you will be able to retrieve your poses as a model.

You must know this posing video

Click, click, click, that’s how a professional model works in e-commerce.

    Subtle variations in the pose

Sometimes the devil is in the details, and small changes can make all the difference. Instead of making drastic pose changes, try introducing subtle variations to your current pose. This could mean moving a hand slightly, adjusting your face or changing your posture slightly.

These subtle variations can create unique and appealing photos. An experienced photographer will notice the nuances and capture them in great images.

    Record casting video

Do you already know our tips for recording a casting video? A good casting video is crucial for aspiring models to convince agencies and, above all, clients. You make casting videos all the time, not just once a year, because e-castings are becoming increasingly popular compared to live castings. What do you need to consider? Marketing Agency – If you are a model on castings or even on jobs for photo shoots and commercials, you will often meet people from marketing agencies! Marketing agencies help their clients to increase their awareness and reach. This is the central task of a marketing agency. Learn a little more about the work of a marketing agency here! Then, should you run into someone who works there at your next job, you’ll already know a little bit about it. Back to all: Marketing Agencies.

What are the goals of a marketing agency?

Let’s first take a look at the different goals that a marketing agency pursues with its work.

    Increase sales and growth

The main goal of a marketing agency is to increase sales for customers. For this purpose, various fields are looked at, for example, the level of awareness of the company. The better known a brand is, the more likely it is that customers will talk about it, buy it. The more customers are convinced, the larger the company’s market share will be compared to the competition. Often also in cooperation with performance marketing agencies when it comes to digital marketing.

Find your marketing agency near you!

Now in FIV Magazine, the top 100 agencies for marketing:

Increase brand awareness and market share

In the second step, it’s no longer just about getting the word out, but about marketing being efficient. For example, if there is an expensive marketing channel that is less efficient compared to the others, e.g. ads in trade magazines, compared to Instagram ads, the more expensive channels are cut. This increases the profitability (profit of the company).

    Customer satisfaction and recommendation

Customer satisfaction is another important goal of marketing agencies. This is about, for example, whether people recommend a brand or a product to others. But it is also about ratings, for example in search engines or on online portals. The higher the customer satisfaction, the more positive the perception through recommendations and good ratings.

    Improve customer loyalty

Every new customer costs money if you want to reach him or her with ads. A final important goal is therefore to improve customer loyalty. If a single customer buys not just once, but five or even ten times, there is hardly any need to invest any advertising budget for this. In this way, profitability (profit) is increased again.

    Let’s summarize the tasks again:

    • Sales increase
    • Increasing the level of awareness
    • Increase in market share
    • Increase profitability
    • Increase customer satisfaction
    • Improve customer loyalty

What does a marketing agency do?

Let’s now go into a little more detail about the individual areas of responsibility.

    Classic communication

When we think of advertising these days, we naturally think first of the Internet, social media, but classic communication should not be forgotten either. Let’s start with a typical business card. Thinking further flyers, brochures, logos, there are so many media formats (often with design agency and creative agency). Marketing agencies therefore pursue a holistic aspect, which also includes the classic communication channels, such as printed brochures. Classic communication includes all marketing measures that do not take place digitally or online. This could also be a small stand in the middle of the city, with two people addressing people.

Which of these marketing actions really makes sense is of course planned in advance here we come to the advertising measures, their development and later implementation.

    Develop and implement advertising measures

Developing promotional activities means, first of all, finding methods that appeal to the brand’s target audience than the people who might buy the brand’s products. The second major goal, simply put, money should not be wasted. Of course, marketing agencies can do anything! But what is really efficient and ensures that new customers or prospects are acquired?

This is exactly what marketing agencies think about. In the end, everything is packaged in a uniform, short concept for the customer. So that the advertising measures are clearly comprehensible, as are their goals.

The advertising measures can then lead from the classic communication, which we have just learned about, to live events, to online and digital marketing methods.

    Sponsoring

Sponsoring is still a big topic for marketing agencies. And it’s not just about classic sponsorship, e.g. on a sports jersey; sponsorship naturally also includes collaboration with influencers. Hardly any other brand ambassador today manages to reach as many people as influencers. In sponsoring, therefore, advertising partners are specifically sought who fit the brand’s target group, the brand itself and who can spread the marketing messages.

Sponsorship thus also has a smooth transition to our next task of public relations.

    Public Relations

Public relations can have many aspects. In general, however, public relations is always about creating attention for a brand. Here again, various methods can be incorporated, classic communication, e.g. through radio spots, but also modern sponsoring of influencers on social media.

In all these cases, the brand gains attention. By choosing the right partners, whether it’s a live event, a trade magazine or an influencer, care is taken to ensure that the brand’s philosophy, values, but also quality match the partner in question.

Simply put, let’s say it’s children’s fashion, then a Mummy event on the weekend could be a possibility, e.g. in the flagship store, as well as targeted collaboration with young parents who also have high reach on social media.

In all cases, the initial goal is not sales, but brand awareness and spreading the marketing message.

This is how public relations makes a brand better known, bit by bit.

    Dialogue marketing

Dialog marketing is the core, here it is not yet about the big reach, but about how we talk to our target group. What do we talk about. Very simple example would be, do we communicate in you or do we use the polite form you. If we communicate using a simple you, we put ourselves on the same level with our counterpart. If we communicate with a polite you, we create more value and some distance. Depending on what the brand’s goals are, a decision is made. Of course, this is only a very simple example, but it shows you what dialog marketing is all about.

    Online / Social Marketing

Online marketing agencies rely on three ways, the first way is advertisements. This allows the greatest reach to be achieved. These ads are then placed, for example, in search engines, in online magazines or on blogs. A second way is organic content, which means self-produced content. This can be in the form of blog articles, for example, a guide for a particular fashion topic, or social media postings from photos on Instagram to Youtube explainer videos. This also brings us to the third pillar in online marketing, social media marketing. Here, either self-produced content is published or there is targeted collaboration with others, here we are again with influencer marketing.

Through these three methods, marketing agencies increase visibility and reach for brands.

    Event marketing, trade fairs

So far, many media have been created, advertising concepts developed, online marketing operated, but in addition there is also the large area of events and trade fairs. Here there are some advantages, e.g. one can enter directly into a personal dialogue, with facial expressions, mood and gestures. People can feel products, test them themselves, they can get to know the creators behind the ideas, and sometimes meet prominent guests.

All this and much more is the advantage of live events. This can be event marketing for private individuals, but also trade fairs for business customers.

    Marketing Agency: Tasks & Services

If you happen to meet a person from a marketing agency at a casting, photo shoot or video shoot, you now know the most important tasks! Marketing agencies make sure that brands get noticed. To do this, they work with partners, from trade magazines to influencers, they place online ads, they host live events

The tasks of a marketing agency include:

    • Classic communication
    • Develop and implement advertising measures
    • Sponsoring
    • Public Relations
    • Dialogue marketing
    • Online / Social Marketing
    • Event Marketing
    • Fairs and B2B

    Agencies: Marketing, Media & Advertising

Agencies – Media, Advertising & Marketing, there are so many, different types of agencies. As a model you will work with many agencies on photo shoots, fashion shows or commercials on set. Here’s a little overview for you.

Media Agency – When you’re working as a model, whether at castings or on the job, you’ll meet a lot of people who are involved around an advertising campaign. One part of the big marketing world are media agencies, for example. They take care of the right advertising space for their clients. Back to: Agencies.

What are the goals of a media agency?

Media agencies are primarily specialized in buying advertising space. If a brand wants to be present everywhere, it can quickly become expensive, between TV, online ads, magazines…so that campaigns are well planned and the costs remain manageable, media agencies organize the advertising placement for their clients.

The more reach, the cheaper the price, the better for the brand.

Of course, it should be mentioned that it is about qualitative reach. That is, people who might be interested in the brand, in marketing as a technical term called target audience.

What does a media agency do?

Media agencies produce advertisements and place them in the right media.

    Production and advertisements

You have just learned about the concept of a target group. Each target group is different. In a stark, simple example, for example, a target group around 20 years and a target group around 60 years. Accordingly, advertisements must be prepared individually, just as the right channels must later be found for the right target groups. Of course, 20-year-old target groups are currently best reached via social media, 60-year-old target groups are probably reached via television, partly also radio and of course some other channels, trade magazines, but also Facebook is always more present.

To ensure that the ads are appealing, they are specifically produced by the media agency or in turn commissioned, for example, from a video / film agency or even content marketing agency.

    Advertisement and brochure advertising

Classic, but still present in every mailbox, ads and leaflet advertising. You will find brochures not only in your mailbox, but also in the supermarket, in the package that you just ordered online, ads and brochures one of the classic advertising methods.

Although online media have now replaced print media in terms of relevance, it is still impossible to imagine everyday life without them.

Media agencies rely on this because an Instagram ad disappears quickly. But if you get a brochure sent home with you, e.g. in the package of an online order, and maybe there’s a €5 discount code on it, the flyer is with you for the time being. You can’t just swipe it away like an ad on Instagram.

    Online advertising

From mass distribution of brochures and advertisements, however, media agencies are primarily concerned with buying online advertising space.

Media agencies have many options for this. For example, they can place banner ads, i.e. display small images or videos on other websites. They can buy targeted articles, e.g. in blogs or in online magazines. You can buy advertising space in social media, whether it’s Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or YouTube. Another option would be to place ads in apps, on Android devices or even on iOS.

Once again, media agencies must ensure that their clients’ advertising budgets are spent efficiently and not wasted.

    Poster advertising

Posters are everywhere, on the walls of houses in the city center, on busy main roads, you can’t get around them when you enter a city. Of course, you might say, what’s the point? Online marketing is much easier!

In fact, however, it’s all about the masses here, just as it is with ads and brochures. People who are interested in a certain topic will notice a poster. Let’s say summer is coming and you suddenly see a big poster of a big brand with a new summer collection and a fantastic dress. You see the product, you see the brand, maybe you remember it on your next shopping trip!

    Spot advertising

Media agencies have many subareas, here perhaps one more important introduced! Spot advertising deals with small advertising films, which are either played on television in the cinema or also with streaming providers.

    Media agency: tasks & services

Now you know the important tasks of a media agency and should you meet a person from a media agency at the next casting, you know roughly what they do.

Let’s briefly summarize the most important tasks again:

    • Production and advertisements
    • Advertisement and brochure advertising
    • Online advertising
    • Poster advertising
    • Spot advertising

    Agencies: Marketing, Media & Advertising

Agencies – Media, Advertising & Marketing, there are so many, different types of agencies. As a model you will work with many agencies on photo shoots, fashion shows or commercials on set. Here’s a little overview for you.

Media agencies do not just design concepts, they implement all ideas, plans and strategies profitably. Media planning and production then covers all key audiences, channels and KPIs. This saves customers valuable time. Because many time-consuming agreements between the individual agencies fall through the comprehensive services of a full service media agency. They provide a complete media portfolio of their clients, with whom marketing can be well and efficiently operated by their own team or agency. It’s not just about the ideas, but also about the performance-oriented implementation of each campaign! The individual advertising concepts of the agencies are extremely individual. Understandable, since most products and brands are very individual. As well as their target groups, their needs and wishes. As a media agency you are always looking for a balancing act to gain the greatest possible success for your clients in the various areas. If you put all the individual strategies together, you have a comprehensive media concept for your own brand. A guideline that helps to grow steadily with traditional and new media.

Media agency – Know how & experts

It is not just about traditional media, but also about new media and new marketing strategies, such as online marketing and social media marketing. Here are extremely large open and hidden sales potential for companies and companies. Why? To date, new media are not used by all companies and brands. There is still “first mover” in social media marketing.

Already knew? We produce small clips for us as well as social media content for our customers, for example Youtube Unboxings for one of the largest shoe retailers in Europe. Here are a few examples from our own portfolio. Later, we also show a best practice of our customers.

Target group knowledge and authentic brands in the new marketing

Authentic, honest! Anyone who shows authentic content, including social content, will win new customers for their brand and their product range. For every company a great opportunity for sustainable, digital success. Media agencies therefore take a focused look at the target groups in new media, where we are currently bringing out the greatest potential. Good planning pays off in the sale and promotion of new products, collections and services.

Social Media Marketing: Advertising on Instagram, Youtube & Co.

In social networks, people today receive much of their daily information. In particular, social networks have always gained in their presence and in their relevance in society. Facebook, Youtube and Instagram have become indispensable today. In all countries, whether it is the western world, the Far East or even individual regions and countries in Europe. People all over the world are logged into social networks. Anyone who is present as a brand or company in social networks, can spread his messages with a long reach. Also, the possibility of viral information dissemination is much higher on social networks than a traditional marketing campaign. In social networks, trends and new fashions spread over a few hours worldwide. Especially bloggers and influencers are here very active market participants, which is convincing for companies. Here we also work very closely with our in-house social media agency.

Advertising does not need a big set anymore, how to easily produce small social content, Deichmann shows.

The example also shows you how small social content can be linked to the big campaign.

Now in the trend at advertising agencies: Blogger and Influencer Marketing

Currently very popular are the two trend themes: Blogger and Influencer Marketing. Both areas are very new and there are few expert agencies. Now the first ones are looking for a comprehensive portfolio together. There are already some big players in the industry who specialize in Youtuber and Blogger. The particularly authentic form of presentation of the young loose on social networks attracts many other young people almost automatically. They become trendsetters and everything they do is copied 1 to 1 by the young people. So who placed his brand so sent social networks Instagram, saving a lot of budget for advertising.

As a full service media agency, of course, we are on the pulse of the times. In addition to models, we already represent a large portfolio of influencers and bloggers. With them, customers can play their advertising so targeted, as it would not be possible in the traditional channels for advertising. Added to this is the positive effect of the emotional connection to the influencer. Our media managers are on the go every day on social networks to find the new Instagram stars and Youtubers! The rise of bloggers is often very fast, as they are very young and relatively quickly regarded by many as idols. If a critical mass of fans or followers is exceeded, the range automatically builds up. In general, influencer marketing and social media marketing are about authenticity. Wherever you convince and your product advertises honestly, that is honestly perceived by the users, can educate high heels.

Best Practice Newsjacking: Influencer at the beginning of the career

6,000 views with the first video! Blogger Soraya Wanya’s first Youtube video with fashion agent Iva reached tens of thousands in just a short time! Who would be able to make it from a standstill at the age of 18? That is why advertising agencies in Germany pay much attention to young bloggers and influencers. She has made a special for the TV show “Germany’s Next Top Model” and so together with Iva quickly thousands and tens of thousands. News jacking or content marketing is a principle that takes up content that will happen in the future. The strategy reaches many, as it is often the first source of information on the new topic. Even social networks are happy about such content from bloggers.

Advertising costs and budgets for digital advertising campaigns

Calculating advertising costs for social media marketing is expensive in classic advertising campaigns. A specific advertising budget is spent by a company on a product, the analyzes then try to measure the successes. However, it is hard to come to a conclusion about how high the advertising investment was and how expensive each new or reactivated customer was. In social media advertising, measuring success is much easier and, above all, faster. In the media agency, everything is calculated exactly and at the end the measures are measured, for example, by means of the CPC (Costs Per Click). If the click cost is higher, more budget will be invested in the ad.

A / B testing for conversion and click optimization of advertisements

A / B Testinghelp the click optimization of advertisements. In order to have a good overview of the successes, the chances and of course the risks, A / B tests are conducted in good agencies. Here are different ads types, graphics and texts played in the advertisements against each other. Users will click more frequently and less frequently. The results of the test will help you tailor your ads to the buyers for a high CTR (conversion). In the end, only the most efficient ads will be promoted, while the less efficient ads will be turned off by the media agency. The free slots are then filled by new campaigns. In this way, we sustainably optimize the online sales of our customers and keep the media efficient and up-to-date.

    Project management increases economic success

Of course, the entire administration and design costs a lot of planning time in the project management of a brand. That is why we, as a media agency, take on the entire project management for brands. Conclusion on the topic of advertising agencies and media agencies

In relation to the traditional marketing methods of advertising agencies and media agencies, new media are a real paradise for brands and companies. You can still make big profits here because the competition is not as high as in the other industry. Just placing a billboard in the middle of Berlin is so costly that only big market players can afford it. Social media a really interesting field when it comes to their own advertising and marketing.

Communication agency – At castings, but also at jobs, you will meet many people from agencies as a model in a model agency, among others also from communication agencies! Communication agencies are particularly specialized in packaging the advertising messages of brands and companies so that they achieve reach, but are not immediately perceived as an advertising message. For example, by working with trade magazines or even on social media with influencers. Back to all: Marketing Agencies.

What are the goals of a communications agency?

Goals – The goal of a communication agency is to communicate the advertising messages of brands, for this they use different ways and methods. At the same time, the advertising messages are reformulated and packaged differently. Communication agencies deal mainly with strategy work, media work and content production.

So when a new campaign is being developed, or even just a first creative concept, you may meet someone from a communications agency as a model!

    What makes a communications agency?

What does a communications agency do?

Tasks & Activities – Here’s a little insight into the three typical tasks and services of communications agencies:

Strategy work: brand, goals and implementation

Analyses and goals, strategy development, messages and themes, creative concepts – At the beginning of the cooperation with a communications agency, the first thing to do is to analyze the previous activities of a brand. This is because new objectives can only be defined through detailed analysis.

These new goals are then shaped into a unified concept during strategy development. Simply put, which marketing messages does a brand want to disseminate and through which channels and which methods can this succeed well?

So the communications agency focuses on specific messages and topics that are addressed again and again, in the various media, platforms or even social media profiles of influencers.

To ensure that the messages and themes are not just dry slogans or texts, a creative concept is naturally also part of the process. Often also in cooperation with creative agencies or design agencies.

The strategy work of a communications agency:

    • Analyses and goals
    • Strategy development
    • Messages and themes
    • Creative concepts

Media relations: Placing topics in target groups

Media relations – placement in trade media, influencer relations, product launch – once the communications agency has defined its strategy, it can move on to active media relations.

This is where the messages and topics are to be placed. Depending on the brand’s target group, i.e. the people who might be interested in a brand, different media channels are used. These can be quite classic articles in trade magazines, but also OOH campaigns (Out of Home, all the advertising you see outside on the street and in the city center).

However, many companies rely primarily on online marketing, one of the most efficient channels currently available. After all, social networks have thousands of data about their users. They know where people live, their age, interests, people and channels they interact with. Communications agencies use this, for example, to place advertisements. For example, they can place a specific marketing message designed for a young target group precisely to people between the ages of 15 and 25. They can make advertisements, but even more precise, for example, only 15 to 25-year-olds who live in Berlin and in 30 km surrounding area. For example, they could also advertise a new flagship store in Berlin, local marketing.

Communications agencies are often called in to set new themes. As in the example, the new flagship store of a major fashion brand or product launches of new goods in the range.

    • Placement in trade media
    • Influencer Relations
    • Product launch

Content production: text, graphics, photo and video

Concepts for content, professional copywriting, social media – As stated at the beginning in the strategy, this includes not only topics and messages in text forms, but also creative concepts.

All of this together is called content production. This is where content is created that is later posted and shared. Content production is about text, but also about everything graphic, from photos to videos.

    • Concepts for content
    • Professional copywriting
    • Social media

Agencies – Media, Advertising & Marketing, there are so many, different types of agencies. As a model you will work with many agencies on photo shoots, fashion shows or commercials on set. Here’s a little overview for you.

Social Media Agency – Social media marketing is more important for companies today than any other marketing method. Representatives of agencies are more often on site at photo shoots, commercials, but also already at castings. Here is a little insight into the tasks and work of a social media agency. Back to all: Marketing Agencies.

What are the goals of a social media agency?

Reach, awareness, community building. The objective can be very different for a social media agency. At the very least, it is always about reach, for example in social media advertising. However, if we talk about social media marketing, it is also about more far-reaching measures, including building a community.

The big advantage is that you can do a lot with your own community! Brands do not have to constantly advertise to reach the people who are interested in them. They have direct access to their fans through their community. Sounds simple, but it makes a big difference for brands! Direct feedback for new products, customers can ask questions directly, they can look behind the scenes.

What makes a social media agency close?

What does a social media agency do?

Let’s take another look at the individual tasks in detail!

    Social media strategy and guidelines

For a social media agency, the first step is always to develop a strategy. Such a strategy is relatively long, after all, such a community is not a day care.

The selection of the right social networks, content and postings, time periods, the response to messages, all this must be planned. For this purpose, social media agencies develop a social media concept in cooperation with their customers, which is then implemented step by step.

This strategy is then used to develop guidelines that all employees, freelancers and other agencies adhere to. One of the core pieces of this strategy is the editorial plan.

    Find your marketing agency!

Now in FIV Magazine, the top 100 agencies for marketing:

    Create editorial plan

An editorial plan summarizes the various activities and employees in a clear paper. This can be a simple table or also a tool with which the publications are planned.

The editorial plan contains all activities and topics. Employees of the company will find here tasks that they should do in preparation, for the social media agency. E.g. send new products, so that photos and videos can be made, which are then published in the social networks, the employees of the social media agency find here again everything important, from the preparations of the postings to the publication periods to the topics that will be published in the coming week, next month and so on.

    Write and publish articles

Through the editorial plan, all posts that need to be written and published are planned. Social media agencies then take over the postings in the individual social networks for their customers and, of course, the interaction that occurs among the postings.

Regular publication is essential, and social media agencies pay attention to this. Their customers are busy with their daily business. Today, when many orders come in or an employee is down, no social media posting is made. At some point, the social media channel stops working and the community stops growing. That’s the biggest danger, without a social media agency!

As simple as it sounds, writing and publishing posts on a regular basis is so important that it needs to be mentioned!

In addition, of course, the social media agency staff considers not only that something should be published, but also when and how. Do we use galleries, a single photo, videos, story function, what does the description under the post look like? Do we use emojis, do we use a link, do we write very little or do we write a lot. All this needs to be planned for every single post!

This is where the editorial plan comes into play again, especially if several social networks are used. Through joint coordination in the editorial plan, a video can be published on YouTube at 9 a.m., a reminder on Instagram at 10 a.m. and the first reaction on TikTok at 11 a.m., for example.

    Community management and communication

The strategy is made. The editorial plan created. The posts written and published.

The next important, central task of a social media agency is community management and communication. On the one hand, these are the interactions directly under the posts. On the other hand, of course, direct messages that arrive in the inbox. But it’s also about external communication, how do people talk about the brand on other profiles, channels or pages?

In addition, a good social media agency ideally also brings a lot of small ideas! How can you bring the community together? A small tool would be to collect feedback, what do you think about that? Sweepstakes are a possibility or “come together events” in larger cities.

So community management encompasses communication on the one hand, but also entertainment.

    Test new functions / platforms

Social media apps are evolving so fast! Just 15 years ago there was only Facebook, then at least YouTube, Instagram, now Pinterest, Twitch, TikTok… So social media agencies also have to be constantly on the lookout for new trends and new social media apps that might be interesting for their clients.

For one thing, important, new features that are constantly popping up within social apps. TikTok does something new, Instagram copies it, Facebook has an idea, a new filter is introduced… new is always interesting, because there are few people who have published content about it yet.

Then there are the new social networks, usually they start with a special aspect, they are for gamers, on TikTok you could sing to real songs of the stars. The one who finds the right app here and is there at the beginning has good chances for high growth.

Crisis communication (recognizing and managing shitstorms)

The greater the awareness, the larger the community, the more diverse the opinions. Of course, this also increases the risk of shitstorms and negative comments.

Crisis communication is also one of the tasks of a social media agency. Ideally, of course, this should be taken into account in the social media strategy at the outset. In the worst case, i.e. no planning and the shitstorm is already there, it must at least react immediately.

Such a shitstorm can happen to any good company. For example, when a person with a larger reach (influencer) gets upset about a brand. Even if the criticism is small, with a strong community, a single opinion so quickly develops into many of the same (negative) opinions. Reacting early, sometimes doing nothing, sometimes moderating, sometimes actively acting, is one of the tasks.

    Social Media Ads

Now we come to the core with the next two tasks: Reach! All companies want one thing above all else, awareness and attention. The more people know a brand, the higher the probability that they will fall back on it, whether in the supermarket or in the online store.

Reach can be built up laboriously over months and years, e.g. through good and creative content, which, however, must come anew every day! That is a lot of effort and work. It’s much easier with advertising. Facebook has well over 2 billion users, Instagram has well over 2 billion users, whether old or young, all can be reached relatively quickly by playing ads.

Accordingly, social media agencies take care of campaign planning, implementation, but also the subsequent analysis and optimization of advertisements.

The great advantage of advertising on social media are the data treasures of the social networks. For example, ads can be played out based on interests, the place of residence, the age of users. The more precise the information, the more specific the target group, the more precise an ad can be.

Example: a fashion brand advertises Black Friday and shopping events in individual cities. Berlin users get a picture with Alexanderplatz and the TV tower. Hamburgers get a photo of their city center, as do Cologneers, Düsseldorfers and Munichers. People naturally feel more attracted to a picture of their city than to a general picture.

This is how social media advertising works.

    Influencer Marketing

The second important tool for building reach for a brand is influencer marketing. Here, social media agencies try to buy targeted placement with influencers. For example, as an Instagram Story or YouTube explainer video. In this way, agencies use the reach (community) of the influencer for customers.

Of course, individual areas of responsibility can also be combined! For example, you could use the content of the influencer and thus place social media advertising to people who follow the influencer. Because usually only 10 to 20% of the followers see the content. The posting usually passes everyone else by. Through the additional paid reach, you can also reach the last 80 to 90%.

This is what makes social media marketing with all its facets, from community building and management to advertising and influencer marketing, so interesting for companies.

    Analyses and regular reporting

Lastly, content is not only planned and published by social media agencies, of course it is also analyzed and evaluated afterwards. What worked? What didn’t? From these findings, the social media strategy can be adapted and optimized.

Social media agency: tasks & services

You can see how extensive the tasks of a social media agency are. Let’s summarize the services again here:

    • Social media strategy and guidelines
    • Create editorial plan
    • Write and publish articles
    • Community management and communication
    • Test new platforms
    • Crisis communication (recognizing and managing shitstorms)
    • Social Media Ads
    • Influencer Marketing
    • Analyses and regular reporting

    Agencies: Marketing, Media & Advertising

Agencies – Media, Advertising & Marketing, there are so many, different types of agencies. As a model you will work with many agencies on photo shoots, fashion shows or commercials on set. Here’s a little overview for you.

Inbound Marketing Agency – Brands need one thing above all: awareness and reach! If no one knows about your product, who’s going to buy it? Inbound marketing agencies are often booked for this. Learn a little more about their tasks and services for their clients here. Maybe you’ll run into someone from an inbound marketing agency in one of your next modelcastings or jobs. Back to all: Marketing Agencies.

What are the goals of an inbound marketing agency?

First, a quick explanation: What are the goals of an inbound marketing agency? The goals are quite clear: the aim is to build up reach in order to achieve deals. Such a deal can be the booking of a workshop, the purchase of a ticket or the sale of a fashion item in the online store. The technical term for this is conversion. The higher the conversion, the better.

    The goals at a glance:

    • Attract traffic
    • Convert visitors
    • Develop leads
    • Close customers
    • Inspire customers

How does she go about it?

What makes an inbound marketing agency nearby?

What does an inbound marketing agency do?

For inbound marketing agencies to achieve their objective, they use various methodologies in online marketing.

Content marketing: good texts and content

Content marketing is the foundation for inbound marketing agencies. Because without good content you have nothing to work with. This can be the benefits on a page in the online store, guides in the integrated blog (for search engine optimization) or even new ideas for Instagram.

This content is made to attract new users to the brand. Placement in search engines, through good and informative blog posts. New posts on Instagram are given additional advertising budget, so that they reach people who do not yet know the brand.

There are no limits to creativity, small animated gifs, videos, sometimes even entire documentaries on YouTube.

With good content, it can then go into the second phase. Generate reach and deals (conversion).

    Lead generation

Let’s first clarify: what is a lead?

The goal of the inbound marketing agency is reach. It ensures that individual users come to the online store or social media channels. Once such a user is there, it is a lead. Simply put, the person is there now, but has not yet bought.

Various strategies are used for this. E.g. search engine optimization, social media marketing, in some cases contacts are also bought from others, for example through advertisements in trade magazines or placements on other channels, as is the case with influencers.

The goal of lead generation is therefore to acquire people who should buy something in the next step.

    Find your marketing agency!

Now in FIV Magazine, the top 100 agencies for marketing:

SEO / SEA: Search Engine Marketing

The technical term SEO stands for search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is about offering users good content point. For example, on certain topics, how do I learn to play the guitar? Companies then produce content exactly for this topic and try to be placed as high in the search results as possible. People who want to learn to play the guitar end up on the company’s website and are theoretically just one click away from buying a guitar or accessories themselves.

The technical term SEA stands for Search Engine Advertising, i.e. advertisements in search engines such as Google. In addition to the search results, which are placed high by good content, search engines also play advertisements from advertising partners. The big advantage here is that you don’t have to work long hours to get to the top, you can get right in front of the competition because the ads are usually above the other search results.

    Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing has become an essential tool for many companies today. In the process, the mix of social networks has become ever larger. Today, companies have to choose between Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Pinterest, Twitter and many other social networks.

For lead generation, social media apps are an excellent tool for reaching people. After all, this is where a lot of data lies, such as age, interests, and places of residence, which inbound marketing agencies can use to reach people precisely.

    Marketing Automation

Once users are collected, it’s also about keeping them in a meaningful flow. For example, if a user is already in the fashion online store and is looking at a few products. Small popups can be used to request the name and email address, for example with the message “So you never miss a bargain again!”.

As soon as I have signed up for this email newsletter, the automation can start. The user gets the first email and depending on whether the user clicks, doesn’t click, or which link they click, they are categorized. Are you looking more at shoes, jackets or accessories? Do you click on men, women, unisex? Depending on this, users receive individualized messages in the second step, for example, specifically for sneaker fans. Here, too, you can filter in the second step, does someone like certain colors, are you interested in a certain size?

All messages are automated and appear depending on what the user does or does not do.

Inbound Marketing Agency: Tasks & Services

That’s what an inbound marketing agency does.

    Agencies: Marketing, Media & Advertising

Agencies – Media, Advertising & Marketing, there are so many, different types of agencies. As a model you will work with many agencies on photo shoots, fashion shows or commercials on set. Here’s a little overview for you.

Online marketing agency – Whether it’s auditions or jobs, you’ll often run into people from agencies, including online marketing agencies. After all, a large part of advertising activities today is online and digital. So you know what an online marketing agency does approximately, here is a brief overview of the services and tasks! Back to all: Marketing Agencies.

What are the goals of an online marketing agency?

The big goal of an online marketing agency is reach and deals. A deal can be, for example, an entry in a newsletter, but also a sale in an online store. For online marketing agencies to build reach in the right target group, they need the right strategy.

What makes a nearby online marketing agency?

What does an online marketing agency do?

Let’s take a closer look at some of the most important tasks of online marketing agencies. Let’s start with A, like Amazon.

Amazon Ads: Advertising in the Marketplace

Amazon has become a small online universe these days, from a former bookseller to a global marketplace. In Germany, there are 10,000 retailers selling through the marketplace. Accordingly, the density of competition is high.

Accordingly, this special area only deals with building up reach and relevant placements within Amazon. Here, for example, it is about the search results that products are displayed as high as possible. But merchants can also promote their items. Thus, Amazon is a retailer and search engine at the same time.

Content marketing: text, photo and video

Content marketing is all about getting lots of visitors to a website, e-commerce or other types of platforms through good content. So content marketing is mainly about creating SEO texts, but also graphics and videos e.g. infographics, which are then embedded within guides. The better these individual pages are, the higher they are ranked in search engines and the more people come to the online project.

However, content marketing can also take place within social media. Accordingly, it is then more about photos and videos, text is only there as an accompaniment, e.g. in the description.

If one connects these individual contents, one speaks again of cross media marketing. For example, when a new product is launched in the online store, guides are published in the blog, with small YouTube explanatory videos. In this way, users are ultimately collected from Google or YouTube (video) and ultimately brought to the online store.

    Email Marketing: Automation

Email marketing is seen by many as outdated, but to this day, email marketing is one of the most efficient ways to reach users. The principle is quite simple, someone asks for your email address, e.g. on a website. Once you have entered it, you will receive regular emails.

Content marketing is also a component here, after all, the content must be created by the newsletter. These also follow a strategy and gradually bring the user into a topic area. Occasionally there are small links, e.g. to a suitable product for it. Already users are back in the online store. Even better, so a user who has already visited us once, comes back again and again.

The more email addresses you collect, the more effective this marketing method is.

    Facebook Ads / Social Ads

In content marketing, you also produce content for all social ads, whether Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok.

Content marketing agencies plan the content, make individual small concepts, present them to clients, and ultimately the finished social media campaigns are created from them.

Whether it’s text, as in blog posts, or photos and videos, as here with Facebook Ads, TikTok Ads, or even Instagram Ads. Content marketing agencies deal with the content that makes users do something. The better the agency understands the users, the more effective the campaign will be.

Google Ads (SEA), Analytics, Shopping & Co.

Besides the big player Amazon and Facebook, there is also Google. Google is also a completely separate universe that consists of different ways to build reach, how to analyze reach, content marketing agencies also specialize in this.

In addition to the already almost classic search engine optimization, e.g. through excellent texts, there are also aspects such as Google Ads, i.e. advertisements in the search results. Also very relevant, especially for online stores and brands that also sell online, is Google Shopping. After all, Google is the most popular search engine in the world, has the most hits every day. Being present here with your own products can only have advantages.

    The best marketing agencies

Now in FIV Magazine, the top 100 agencies:

    Link Marketing

Link marketing is like referral marketing in the real world. Assuming a certain store, there is a high probability that you will go to that store. Especially if you trust the person, e.g. because he is a friend or an old acquaintance.

In link marketing, content marketing agencies place links in other websites, online portals or magazines. The more links are placed on good pages, the more visible your own brand is.

The number of links, on good quality pages, is a quality indicator for search engines. Ultimately, it is also again about the range.

    SEO – search engine optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) combines various disciplines. On the one hand, it is about good content, that is, content that really brings something to the visitors. It is about further links, so that I can also inform users about technical terms or further topics.

The better the content, the more likely people are to read these articles long, maybe even share them with other friends, the more interaction, the better!

Thus, search engine optimization ultimately pursues the goal of bringing brands and projects to the top of the search results, ideally to number 1.

    Social Media Marketing

The last big sub-area we want to introduce you to again is, of course, social media marketing. As mentioned briefly before in the social ads, content marketing agencies also produce a lot of content for social media, not just for the search engine algorithm.
