Travel tips for models – Municipalities in Rome

A trip to Rome can be quite confusing. There are a total of 15 municipalities called Municipio. These districts are in turn divided into 155 zones. It’s really not easy to find your way through. Here is a list of the different districts for you:

  1. Centro Storico (Rome) – Prati
  2. Parioli /Nomentano – San Lorenzo
  3. Monte Sacro
  4. Tiburtina
  5. Prenestino / Centocelle
  6. Roma delle Torri
  7. San Giovanni / Cinecittà
  8. Appia Antica
  9. EUR

Colosseo – You must see this in Rome

The Colosseum in Rome is the symbol of the city and is something you should not miss when visiting it. But Rome also has some other locations worth seeing:

  • PalatinThe Seven Hills of Rome are really great vantage points. One of the best is the Palatine (Palatino), a green hill with atmospheric ruins, mighty pines and a splendid view of the Forum Romanum.
  • PantheonThe best preserved ancient monument of Rome is a remarkable building. The portico with the mighty columns and the squat walls is already quite impressive, but one gets a real picture of the Pantheon only when one has entered the interior. The enclosed space is huge, and when you look into the dome you feel tiny and insignificant
  • Petersdomnot only Christians succumb to the magic of St. Peter’s, the largest and most spectacular of the Roman churches. Everything here is astonishing, from the prelude, the wide curved St. Peter’s Square, the grandiose façade to the richly decorated interior. The highlight is Michelangelo’s extraordinary dome, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture and one of the landmarks of the Eternal City.

Dining in an unforgettable environment

Going out for dinner is one of the great pleasures of Rome, especially in summer when you can sit outside and people populate the streets well after midnight. What could be nicer than enjoying fine Italian food and good local wine at a table on a pretty cobblestone lane while the turbulent city life passes by? And since you will find everything here – from elegant and romantic restaurants to noisy pizzerias or upscale ice cream parlours – everybody gets his money’s worth.

Rome and its unique places

IVANMAN – Menswear at the Berlin Fashion Week 2019

Men’s fashion to marvel at – Ivanman inspires again. Like every year, Ivan Mandžukić redefines men’s fashion with his unusual designs and unusual cuts. We watched his show live and are thrilled by the precision of his work.

Ivanman – fancy men’s fashion

The Berlin-based label Ivanman was founded in 2010 by designer Ivan Mandžukić . The graduate of the ESMOD Academy for Fashion Design founded the Ivanman brand with the aim of creating a combination of classic and avant-garde men’s fashion. The fashion label Ivanman sees fashion as a social phenomenon, analyzes it through deconstruction, examines its individual parts and then reassembles them in textile form. The result is a men’s fashion reduced to a minimalist style, characterised by sharp wearability. Simple but expressive details give the collection its special characteristics. The foundation of the Ivanman brand is a classic and modest fit. By adapting the details during the development process, fashion becomes a portable avant-garde collection. Yet the looks never seem to have been deliberately deconstructed. Currently, the Ivanman collections consist mainly of menswear and accessories, complemented by a few feminine looks.

Ivanman at the MBFW 2019

Loyal to its city, IVANMAN 2019 presents its collections on the catwalks of the Berlin fashion scene. Unlike most other shows, Ivanman is not a typical runway, but a pedestal in the middle of the crowd, where the different pieces with geometric cuts and bright colors are in focus. The models were discreetly styled to keep the focus on the clothes, but we can confirm that Ivanman’s new collection is hard to keep an eye on.

#MBFW2019 – Lena Hoschek at the Berlin Fashion Week 2019

It’s the time of the year again – Lena Hoschek will be joining us with her autumn/winter collection at the Fashion Week in the German capital Berlin. We watched the show live and are thrilled. Also this year Hoschek inspired with their unique designs.

Fashion with humor – Hoschek’s philosophy

Lena Hoschek is mainly inspired by the Hollywood stars of the 40s and 50s. Hoschek finds it exciting and interesting how the sex symbols of the 40s and 50s went through life with humor and didn’t take themselves as seriously as they do today. According to Hoschek, Maryln Monroe, Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida are the most attractive women of all time, not only because of their looks, but also because of their incomparable personality, which is pure inspiration for Lena Hoschek. The spectrum of her fashion is very broad. Dresses, skirts, blouses, trousers, traditional costumes, pyjamas, glasses and other accessories are created and launched twice a year. Her customers include pop star Katy Pery and Charlotte Roche.

Lena Hoschek – Autumn/Winter collection 2019 at the MBWF

Lena Hoschek will present her collections for the first time in Berlin in 2010. A mixture of femininity and sex appeal remind visitors of the 50s. Today she is known as the ambassador of femininity and along with other fashion designers, her collections are always fresh and cheerful. The catwalk of the models is decorated with oriental patterns. Lena Hoschek comes on stage satisfied at the end and is applauded from all sides! A good finish for the young designer.

Danny Reinke Fashion Week 2019- From fisherman’s son to fashion designer

Danny Reinke comes from a line of fishermen. His father and great-grandfather were already fishermen, instead of continuing these traditions he broke the family traditions and that with success. Today known as an international star designer. At the MBFW we also went live to see his autumn/winter collection.

The first designer of the family

At the age of 6 he learned from his father how to use a sewing machine. This to continue the family traditions of the fisherman, but Denny Reinke had other plans. When he discovered fashion, his plans were clear – he wants to go high and create fashion. Instead of investing his time at a business school to study economics, he moved to Hannover to learn fashion design and ladies tailoring.

His first collection

In his final collection, he was inspired by the family business of fishing. At first his father was very sceptical about his son’s plans, but a look at his work changed his mind. Together they finished a sweater on ropes. The tulle dresses of the collection were anything but the typical dress of a princess, but had a very modern look, which he still retains today. Elaborate pearl embroideries transformed basics such as nude longsleeves and black bomber jackets into spectacular eye-catchers, because the motifs were mythical mythical mythical creatures in darkly dazzling colours. A touch of grunge and gothic blew through the designs from “Tempting Beast” without portraying the wearers as marginal figures of society. This fashion is well-dosed extravagance and wearable without being ordinary.

Danny Reinke at the Fashion Week Berlin 2019

The Autumn/Winter 2019/2019 collection is all about women, with tulle weaving techniques as the core element to remind us of his fishing family. The woman is shown as a “divine being”. Inspired by the #MeToo movement, this year he also convinces all fashion lovers of the Fashionweek 2019 in Berlin. Another characteristic of this year’s autumn/winter collection are blouses in silver brocade and pastel tulle. The blouses and trousers are embroidered with pearls and copper pencils in elaborate handicraft. We were thrilled to see this show live.

Marcel Ostertag x Fashion Week 2019

Marcel Ostertag, who studied at the renowned Central St. Martin College in London, founded his eponymous label Marcel Ostertag in 2006. With 16 shows presented at the Fashion Week in Berlin, it is an integral part of the MBFW. We were live again this year and were amazed by his show, like every year.

Marcel Ostertag – The Primeval Rock of Fashion Week

Marcel Ostertag is both maker and brand. Inspired by the streets of Munich and the special flair of the Viktualienmarkt, Marcel Ostertag designs his collections in his studio in the Gärtnerplatz quarter, which are produced exclusively in Germany. In his collections, however, the designer does not only pay attention to optics. It is very important to him that the person who wears his designs also feels comfortable. For this reason, he regularly visits fabric fairs so that he can guarantee good wearing comfort.

What does Marcel Ostertag stand for?

Love is in the details, says Ostertag. This is exactly what the designer wants to implement. Through details his collections should be timeless, preferably eternal. The designer himself says that his target group is not necessarily the rich and beautiful, but anyone who loves and appreciates quality and pays attention to details. It is important that your customers care about wearing things that only a few others wear.

Autumn/Winter 2019 at the Berlin Fashion Week

Like every year, Ostertag proved itself this year at the Fashion Week 2019 in Berlin. Made of matt rosé shiny sequins on a short pendant, he styles a rough turtleneck sweater in olive green and adds metallic buckles to the coarse, orange-coloured straps of the dress. His talent for material combination, which can hardly be surpassed, he simply proves again and again. We were enthusiastic about the production and are looking forward to the next Fashion Week to be inspired by him.

Rebekka Ruétz – How she rocks the Berlin Fashion Week 2019

Rebekka Ruétz has done it again. Like every year she convinces with her unconventional and extravagant creations.  Since 2010 Rebekka Ruétz has been inspiring the fashion world every year at the Berlin Fashion Week with her expressive outfits – made for the modern Amazon.

Ruétz and her fashion

Ruétz mode is characterized by unequal connections.  Lush textures, twisted layers, as well as decorative and extravagant designs provide a recognition value. The colour palette of her creations is also very versatile. From peacock green to moss green. Night blue and underwater turquoise to plenty of reddish brown, bordeaux, autumn orange, amber, gold and silver as well as dirty beige and black.  A skilful combination of basics and extraordinary material compositions provide each time again for tension.  The designer started her relevant training at the Innsbruck Fashion Ferrari School. Then came the Academy for Fashion & Design in Munich, where she graduated as Best Graduate and “Cognos Relevance Award” winner. She gained experience in India and with designer Peter Pilotto in London. Since the label “rebekka ruétz” was founded in Innsbruck in 2009, she has stood on her own feet professionally. Rebekka Ruetz, born in 1984, has conquered markets in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland with her label of the same name.

Rebekka Ruétz at the Fashionweek Berlin 2019

It gets dark, loud rock music sounds through the loudspeakers – finally it starts. We were there when Rebekka Ruétz presented her autumn/winter collection 2019/2020 at the Fashionweek Berlin and are thrilled. The combination of basics with extravagant and exciting details is once again a success. Unusual belts and cords adorned the outfits and told an exciting story about the designer’s view of the world. The viewer feels surrounded by an imaginary cloud full of charm and charisma. At the same time, however, it takes us into a modern, real world that is inharmonic, moody and mysterious. It’s hard to turn the gaze away from the show, every outfit is unique in its kind. We can hardly wait to see what Rebekka Ruétz has in store for us at the next Fashionweek.

Irene Luft – Dark Paradise at the #MBFW

Irene Luft is already an established name in the fashion industry. At this year’s Fashion Week Berlin, she will once again be convincing with the theme “Dark Paradise”. We were there live for you and let Irene show us the dark side of the fashion world.

First Germanys Next Topmodel, then Fashion Week

Irene Luft founded her label of the same name in 2008. One year later she was already allowed to design a collection for the 4th season of the TV production Germanys Next Topmodel, which was then presented by the young models in the show. Since then, the luxury prêt-à-porter brand has inspired the catwalks of the world. The brand’s signature is its modern yet hard-to-define, feminine and romantic style with a touch of progressiveness.

Irene celebrates great success

After completing her studies at the Academy for Fashion and Design in Munich, she founded her own brand. Shortly after, the big breakthrough. Their originality and strong personality are reflected in the breathtaking dresses. By processing noble and expensive fabrics into fashion suitable for everyday use, they have attracted the attention of many great personalities. Her loyal customers include Franziska Knuppe, Verona Pooth and Viktoria Lauterbach. Irene Luft also has customers in the United Arab Emirates.

Irene air autumn/winter 2019 at the MBFW

The dark side of Fashion Week – Irene Luft presents us “Dark Paradise”. Under this name, the various items of clothing run across the catwalk.  Noble dresses with black lace, long gloves on which fringes are stuck with coloured accents let it appear elegant and noble. The make-up is selected to match the outfits. Light skin with black accents on the eyes and white contact lenses that give the overall look a certain “horror look”. We think it was more than just a show, Irene Luft gave us an experience with Dark Paradise.

Miami Yacine: Designer – The new music video of Germany’s most successful rapper on Youtube

Which model agency stands for High Fashion & Design? Your’re right! Our newcomer Boris in the music video of Germany’s most successful rapper on Youtube. Cocaine already has over 120 million views. Now publish Miami Yacine designers. In the video you can see not only newcomer Boris, but also Luisa, Linn (Milan) and Flower. Expensive outfits, designer bags, lifestyle ala Miami.

Miami Yacine – Designer music video x Boris, Luisa, Linn & Flower

Miami Yacine: Platinum status

Miami Yacine is a German speaking rapper (for those who don’t know him yet) of Moroccan origin, raised in Dortmund. He himself belongs to the Dresden group KMN Gang. Miami Yacine is the most successful German rapper and has over 120 million views on his music video Kokaina alone. In 2012 he released his first mixtape completely free of charge – today, after all the success, it’s hard to believe! He only became really famous with the trap single Kokaina in September 2019. Already in the first month the video had 10 million video views and since then it has increased extremely! In January of this year, it cracked the 100 million hits. Miami Yacine was not only successful on YouTube but also in music sales and of course made it into the German music charts. His single now has platinum status.

Video in Berlin

A few weeks ago we met together in Berlin with the music production of Miami Yacine, together with our models Boris, Louisa, Linn and Flower. The video shooting was indeed spectacular, as most of the scenes were shot in the evening and at night. In an old huge factory hall, with neon lights and strong light effects on 50 meters of distance. The designer music video has everything that goes with it. Miami Yacine is a great artist who has already achieved a lot and will certainly achieve a lot more. The song Designer and the music video deal with the high fashion industry and Haute Couture. Who doesn’t love them, the big brands around Prada, Hermes, Balmain, Gucci or even Dior? Miami Yacine has gathered all these high fashion brands together in his music video designer.

Boris in particular did a fantastic job in video production as the main model. Although he was flown to Berlin on the same day, every recording was made. We are very happy about the cooperation and can also recommend you Miami music video for the song Kokaina, with which Air 2016 had its big breakthrough in Germany:

Berlin Fashion Week: Shows, Dates and… Invitation?

Soon it will be time again and all model agencies and models will meet again in Berlin! The Fashionweek is coming up and invites to the big summer party. For a week, the German capital is turning back into a fashion Mecca. Many know the big shows of German designers from fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle or Harper’s Bazaar. Away from the mainstage there is also much else to discover, e.g. the Berlin Fashion Salon. But also the meeting places of the Be-to-Be economy. What does that mean? But let’s start with the basics!

+ Berlin + Munich + Cologne | Model Castings in February 2019

Why is Berlin Fashion Week?

Fashion changes so fast! Almost every month there is a new collection and new parts hang in the shop windows in the city centres, and there are always new highlights in online shops. All big chains but also all boutiques have to get their clothes from somewhere. Usually you visit a designer and look at the clothes in the showroom. Showrooms are therefore also one of the most frequent jobs for young models. Here you present the designer’s new fashion collections directly to the body, in front of a small audience, with only designers, someone from marketing and the customer. The customer can view the cuts directly, but also the fits and materials. Of course this way is relatively complex, because every single boutique owner has to come to the customer, needs a single appointment, a model and so there is a lot of effort. Berlin Fashion Week has exhibition halls with various themes, trend fashions, wedding fashions and oversizes. Hundreds of designers and producers position themselves at every trade fair. For one week trade visitors can inform themselves here about the latest collections and pieces. You can not only see the individual samples live, but also models who can present individual parts are booked on each stand. This is the main business of Berlin Fashion Week!

Fashion Designers Meet Customers

From the prêt-à-porter to the curvy, customers will find everything they need for their fashion boutiques and shops. Berlin will thus occupy the trends in German fashion boutiques for a few weeks. Of course, not only boutiques stop by, larger fashion chains also send their scouts out to discover trends. Hundreds of designers are lined up next to each other on each stand at each trade fair. There is a lot to discover here, i.e. fabrics and cuts that have been separated but also completely new ideas as well as Function Wear. The fashion industry never stands still and that’s why we meet for Fashion Week, whether in London, Paris, Milan, New York or Berlin to discover the latest trends. And when you meet, there are always others, of course. YouTube, Instagram Stars, Press, Stars and Starlets. For one week, the Who’s Who of the fashion and media world will meet in Berlin.

How many fashion shows are there at Berlin Fashion Week?

There are two different sections among the various fashion shows. One stage deals with the main shows. This is where the great German designers meet to present their new collections to a large audience. Not only normal guests are invited to these fashion shows, but also VIPs, YouTuber, Instagramer, press representatives and stars as well as actors, footballers or even musicians. On this mainstage there are usually eight shows per day over 5 days. From Monday to Friday you have the possibility to have a look at the new collections. On Saturday there will also be a big highlight, the audience and the tickets are of course strictly limited and not for sale.

In addition to the main stage, there are also 2.3 side stages where there are smaller shows by young designers. These include, for example, the Berlin Fashion Salon, where you can particularly look forward to new designers. That’s why there is also the Ethical Fashion Show. It runs parallel to the mainstage for 5 days and shows in particular fashion labels that focus on sustainability. These are the two different areas, the mainstage and the different side stages.

How to get tickets for Berlin Fashion Week?

It’s extremely hard to get tickets for the mainstage, of course designers prefer Instagram Stars or Youtuber, who can report directly and directly about the collections. Press representatives and magazines are increasingly receding into the background, but also stars and VIPs. If you want a ticket, you need good contacts and a contact person at the respective designer or his advertising or PR agency. But it is very difficult to get such tickets!

For the other side shows of Berlin Fashion Week it is also difficult to get tickets but a little easier. For example, if you have an Instagram account with at least 40,000 or 50,000 fans, you can get one or two tickets. The magic word here is accreditation. However, you should take care of it early, as well you should only try if you have something to offer in exchange for the coveted places.
How many people are at a fashion show in Berlin?

The tickets are of course strictly limited, so there is not much space. That is clear but how little space actually? The main show of Berlin Fashion Week usually comprises a maximum of 150 people. Each show can now accommodate 150 guests. This sounds like a lot of space at first, if you count sponsors, people from the team or partners, as well as buyers who buy larger quantities, then only 100 seats are left. These 100 places have to be distributed to stars you work with, instagramers you already work with, model agencies provide the models and so on! In the end there may be 80 tickets left for the invitation, for the whole of Germany but also for international guests.

So the space conditions are very tight, on the side stages it often gets even tighter. In the Berlin Fashion Salon there are shows in which only 30 or 40 guests take part. Is that what you thought? That’s why invitations to the shows are so popular!

Do international designers appear in Berlin?

You won’t meet many international designers at Berlin Fashion Week, Marc Cain is usually on site, but that’s the big international highlight! In Berlin he meets the top German designers, fashion labels RIANI and Dorothee Schumacher.

In which location will Berlin Fashion Week take place?

The designers’ shows take place in various locations in the city, a few years ago at the Brandenburg Gate in a specially constructed large tent with its own lounge and many conveniences, then in the Jandorf department store and this year for the first time in Berlin’s E-Werk.

Modeling at a fashion show? If you want to work as a model at one of the fashion shows yourself, you have to take part in the castings. The casting dates, especially for the great designers, are of course kept strictly under lock and key. Here only the big model agencies should participate, so that on the day of the decision one really has only the best candidates locally. There is not much time for the preparation in Berlin, as an agency or team you usually have 7 to 10 days to find the best models, to familiarize yourself with the location, to prepare all clothes and if necessary also to make changes if something is spontaneous. Therefore, the castings are usually not conducted publicly. With smaller labels, however, you are sometimes lucky as a model without a model agency. Because some of your castings are held in public, why is that? Of course, the great designers don’t necessarily need additional advertising, they already have other concepts for that. Smaller designers, e.g. from Berlin, would be happy to receive a little extra attention for your fashion label. That’s why some model castings are made public.
Berlin, Paris, London, New York, what is most worthwhile?

The concepts and the presentation are of course the most extravagant in Paris and New York! If you’ve experienced one like this here, Berlin will soon seem relatively small to you. Especially in Paris big shows are traditionally done. Everyone knows the famous productions for Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld, trend-setting with robots – in the supermarket or in the forest, every kind of production is feasible. In Berlin the scales are a bit smaller, here you have two or three locations, which are usually not specially prepared, the focus is on fashion. Of course, this has its very own charm. Fashion Week is not only important to see new clothes, but also to network and meet again.
Chanel Fall / Winter 2018 in Paris

Here you see the difference to Berlin, Paris, absolute highlight!

What is there to experience besides the fashion shows?

In the streets of Berlin, especially in the city centre, you will find a lot of events that take place parallel to Fashion Week. For example, there are great parties at the House of Weekend, one of the rooftop bars in Berlin. Not only cash, but also club! A truly unique experience for Berlin. If you are an agent at a model agency or a model at Fashion Week in the summer, it is also worth taking a look into the great crested diver, just a few metres from Warsaw Street. In the Great Crested Grebe you not only have a club but also a huge pool. Especially in the hot summer days, the cooling in the evening is perfect here. But there are also smaller events and parties, from DJs to barbecues. Of course you have not only the time to visit events in the evening, but also many events in the night. Magazine Parties in clubs, private parties in larger houses but also designer events, often with celebrity singers who present new songs for an invited audience. From a cosy barbecue to a magazine party you can experience so much in Berlin. Many dates can be found on the official site of the would Fashion Week but also always in our fashion blog!

These are our top 3 favorites:

  • Tourne de Transmission
  • Bobby Abley
  • Oliver Spencer

The classic style for every man

Of course, the classic style is still preserved in men. Well-known designers who have been in the business for years trust the fashion for the “real man” and rely on classic cuts and colors. Again, we already have our favorites, which we are sure that they remain true to their style this year:

  • Ben Sherman

Runway Show Highlights of the Autumn and Winter Collection 2017

Model measurements for catwalks and fashion shows

Fashion is always something special. Fashion lives on Being special! New fashion collections are regularly released by designers worldwide, every season. Not only major international fashion designers and retail chains are working. Even small fashion labels have to constantly present new designs and styles to their customers to gain their attention. So designers and fashion have to reinvent themselves time after time to stay interesting for consumers.

Shows in Milan, New York, Paris, Hong Kong and London

At the Fashion Weeks the new masterpieces are regularly presented. In Milan, New York, Paris, Hong Kong and London. In spring, summer, autumn and winter, people are always looking for new looks and trends. Almost all designers have one thing in common, they tailor their collections for tall, slender people as mentioned in every post to similar topics. The clothes are more elegant, fabrics unfold their full effect, everything looks more exclusive and high quality! Delicate figures make clothes and their possible price more expensive. Even if not all fashion brands work in this scheme, it’s the majority of the industry.

Dimensions for fashion show

Fashion shows and fashion presentations are subject to an unwritten standard. For female models, a dress size of 34 (maximum 34/36) with a height of 177-180 (176-181) cm is considered ideal at the beginning of the career. Your hip should be under 91cm. Men’s models usually have a clothing size of 48 (max 50/52) with a height of 185-192 cm. A tip here for men’s models: At the beginning of the career you should pay attention as a male model on a younger look. If you look too masculine in your early years as a model, you’ll quickly get a chance on jobs in the fashion industry and on casting. That’s why you should always go to Castings with a shaved beard as a male model in the first years.

Measure yourself!

These are the measurements points for your first modeling agency application. Take care, that you are totally honest. More about: Take your own measurements for agencies, castings and jobs.
