Modeling in Berlin! First castings, jobs and travels in the capital city

Welcome to Berlin! The “place to be” for models and those who want to become models. In the capital not only the international celebrities gather for the mega-events. German and international politics, the media and of course trends, magazines and fashion from all over the world and from all cultures meet here! As a model in Berlin, you have the very best chances to get your hands on big jobs and advertising campaigns. There are many casting events here, not only for national campaigns that are broadcast on German television or in the social media, but also for worldwide campaigns that you will see in different countries around the world. Achieving such jobs is the absolute goal for up-and-coming models when it comes to making their dream come true, so that they can make a living from modeling. Just as influencers and bloggers work long hours for their own careers, you have to do it in a modeling agency. Nevertheless, it remains to be said: In Berlin you have a big advantage, in the capital they all come together in the end. One of the biggest fashion events also takes place in Berlin, where many famous designers come to show their collections. As a model you then present the fashion at a fashion show or at one of the numerous fashion fairs. This is a good start for you as a model, because if you can convince yourself, you can also get follow-up bookings at Fashion Week.

Models “Place to be”: Berlin Mitte

Berlin is not only an interesting place for models because of its diverse customers from the media and TV industry. The city has much more to offer! In Berlin Mitte alone, there are thousands of stories every day between Kreuzberg and Moabit that could be told. In Berlin it is sometimes best to be a model. You can relax with friends in a restaurant or experience cultural events in Berlin, from small concerts to art exhibitions to major Berlin events. This means that you are not only caught up in your work, but can also manage your private life and friends very well. Because as a model you will have little time sooner or later. Therefore it is important for you to maintain social contacts and friends. Your career, especially as a student, should not be the first priority. Serious model agencies in Berlin make sure that you get good marks and that the teachers are satisfied with your performance.

If you move to Berlin as a model, you may feel a little lost in the beginning. Several million people, plus Berlin’s very own charm, tens of thousands of streets and hundreds of lines, from buses to subways. It can take a while before you can get your bearings in Berlin, for example if you come from the country. It’s worth it! Because as I said, there are thousands of stories in Berlin!

Fashion show, showroom and fashion designer in Berlin

In Berlin-Mitte there are many fashion dealers on some streets. Boutique & Showroom you will find especially here in the city between Zoo and Alexander Platz. Here fashion designers present their new collections when buyers from big fashion houses and chains come by for the new order. Showrooms are usually quite unspectacular, especially when you think of the big shows of the star designers at Fashion Week. Showrooms in Berlin are simple, like everyone else. Here you introduce fashion to an exclusive and select, very small audience. Usually there are only a few people, maybe three or four. You’re often alone with the fashion designers or someone from marketing or sales. Little by little you introduce the different parts of the new collection to the customers, show them different materials or cuts and also show them details. After that, not a single sample is sold, but often a few thousand or ten thousand pieces. That’s why your job as a model is very important for the designer and the whole brand. Some haute couture labels even have their own events to present their collections. Every year, just in time for the spring, summer, autumn and winter seasons.

The big fashion shows are a little different. In Berlin, the absolute highlight is the Hightlight? The Fashion Week, of course. There is not only the main event at Berlin Fashion Week, but also many side events, which are often even more exclusive than the chance at Mainstage. Models are not just wanted at castings a few days in advance, but are booked weeks or months in advance by the star designers. These include shows by Michael Michalsky and Harald Glööckler. Guido Maria Kretschmar also presents his latest masterpieces here, but on the Main Stage. This shows that Fashion Week is a “must have” for Berlin models.

Fashion show for the Fashion Week

Maybe you remember the famous sentence by Mr. Frank Sinatra from the famous song “New York”: “If you can make it there you can make it everywhere”. This means that a fashion show is always the same! Usually there is a casting in advance, where hundreds of models come to present their model portfolio in a super short show. Then the designers select their preferred models and contact the respective model agencies with a request for an option. You will then get a concrete Fitting date, if necessary also a date for Final Rehearsal, shortly before the big fashion show. As a model you have to keep all two or three dates free. During the fitting, the garments are first tested on you, so you can still make corrections, for example if the fabric does not fit perfectly due to a few centimeters too much. Light, reflections, all these details play an important role for the designers during the presentation of the collection. During the fitting we are also given the first immediate information about the show. In the case of large choreographies, there is often a final rehearsal, or in German, the large dress rehearsal. Here the choreographer, the models and the designer come together to rehearse the show again, so that all models are in time and nothing can go wrong anymore.

Then the big show and the hectic comes towards you. Not only the designer and the event team are there, media representatives, editors of magazines, stylists and make-up artists are there to prepare the models for the catwalk every second. As a model you don’t have much time between each fly. With some models the Berlin muzzle gets through quickly. Especially when things get stressful and over fifteen models with assistants and make-up artists have only a few minutes for each individual outfit. If you hold out here, you can make it far in your modeling career.

Photo shoots and campaigns in Berlin

Fortunately, a main job doesn’t consist of shows! Most of the time you’ll be working as a model by doing photo shoots. Photo shoots are so often needed. Just think of the different advertising agencies of designers, but also other companies. The food industry, banks or insurance companies. That’s why models are often booked for photo shootings. Of course, there are many interesting locations in Berlin and local photographers know how to stage a model at a certain location. Advertising agencies and companies like to rely on Berlin production when it comes to high-quality media. With its multicultural influences and ideas, Berlin has always stood for creative work. As a model, you have a great chance of getting a good photo shoot in the capital. Occasionally you have to go to castings, but very often you will get your booking directly. A direct booking is advantageous, because the customer will book you directly from your photos. So you don’t have to come to an extra appointment to see if you fit at all. You get directly a shooting date, the location and your fee for the job.

We as a model agency are happy about every new Berlin talent who has the courage to send us his photos. Simple photos with a mobile phone are enough for us. Just make sure that you take the photos in daylight and that we have a portrait and a full body photo of you. If you want to try it, apply now in our agency as Model in Berlin.

Versace – The luxury brand: Women & Men Collections + Fashion Show Extras

The luxury brand badly there and its start as a mega empire – The mega brand Versace is on everyone’s lips. The clothes and shoes as well as handbags and accessories adorn the catwalks of the fashion shows all over the world. Again and again Versace inspires with new creations and unusual designs. The Medusa logo is known all over the world and Versace enjoys a high reputation in the global fashion world. The world’s most famous models such as Noamie Campell and Claudia Schiffer ran for Versace and many famous faces have become a trademark of the fashion label. The initially small family business quickly developed into a mega empire of superlatives.

Versace the “Master of Neo-Baroque”

The fashion brand Versace was founded by Gianni Versace in Milan in 1978. The German textile dealer Albert Eickhoff saw the talent in the then still unknown designer Gianni Versace and was the first to promote him. The designs convinced Eickhoff so much that the young artist’s first fashion show took place on Eickhoff’s initiative in 1978. The location for the fashion show in which Gianni presented his own collection of pastel shades to the world for the first time was the Stadttheater in Lippstadt. Shortly afterwards, the designer opened his first boutique in Milan’s Via Spiga. The Versace men’s collection was not long in coming and attracted attention with its daring designs. The feedback on the collection was mixed. The designs were described by professionals as both daring and vulgar, as well as revolutionary and innovative. The brand “Versace” was born. Gianni himself received the title of “Master of Neo-Baroque” thanks to his innovative and daring creations. After Giannis death in 1997, his siblings Donatella and Santo Versace took over the fashion company, but remained true to Giannis style.

Fashion style of Versace and their familiar faces

Ginni Versace’s creations regularly made headlines, sometimes positive, sometimes negative! His collections were always daring and provocative and either liked them or were a real faux pas for some eyes. Versace’s designs still attract the attention of the fashion world today with saturated colours, figure-hugging cuts, short skirts, colourful prints, shiny fabrics and deep necklines. In the 1980s, Gianni designed costumes for stage and theatre performances and made a name for himself working with international artists and establishing himself in the fashion scene as a costume designer and fashion designer. The daring evening dresses were inspired by various artists and Greek mythology, as can easily be seen from the logo of the brand! The decadent fashion decorates the logo of the fashion house Versace, the head of Medusa. Materials such as leather, rubber and metal were incorporated into his collections in a variety of ways. Versace and his family practiced an extravagant lifestyle of their own, which was also reflected in the fashion artist’s designs. Top models such as Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Claudia Schiffer regularly walked the catwalk for Versace and stylishly presented the extravagant dresses. The supermodels were soon associated with the brand itself and portrayed as the faces of those. Madonna and Demi Moore also modelled for the famous luxury label.

Sneakers by Versace in urban neo-baroque

Always extravagant, always slightly over the top! So are the shoes from Versace. Even if the brand orients itself to the new urban trend, the fashion house always remains true to itself. Whether higheel, sneaker or a combination of both, the brand’s gold-plated logo creates a glamorous look. The pairing between urban and high fashion can be seen in this shoe design. It is a sneaker with a kind of wedge heel. The golden details and ornamentation allude to the neo-baroque look.

This clash of different styles can also be seen in this Versace design. The patterns typical of the brand are reminiscent of ancient Greece. The shoe takes up the modern street look and contrasts with the print. Versace proves that the combination can work perfectly.

Extravagant handbags of superlatives

Versace is synonymous with Italian luxury and extravagant aesthetics. The youthful line of Versace jeans offers a cheaper alternative to the main line. The casual pieces embody the style of the brand. The Versace Jeans shoulder bag is a luxurious candy for the arm. The playful prints and a variety of shapes, sizes, colours and styles offer a feminine look and numerous variations and combinations.

Couture, Quilted Shoulder Bag

With this shoulder bag you can style everything from the casual jeans look to wild leather nights. The bag has a magnetic closure and a belt closure with the Brand logo. A detachable shoulder strap hides inside the bag.

The unmistakable look of the Versace Icon Bag

The unmistakable Versace aesthetics can also be found in the icon bag with baroque print. The bag is made of leather and has an exceptional quality in Savage Baroque print. The clasp is decorated with the round Medusa logo and noble padlock. The bag has a timeless design and can be combined with almost all outfits.

High Class pure: Versace and her sunglasses collection

The Versace Shield Sunnie from the new collection makes it very difficult for the other glasses to outbid them. The reflective effect of the glasses makes the wearer look more anonymous and mysterious. The trendy glasses make every outfit a highlight and make you an eye-catcher.

Luxur men’s and women’s fragrances

The mega brand Versace is also celebrating great success with its fragrance creations. The most popular and irresistible fragrances are listed here.

The number 1 men’s fragrance: Versace Eros

Versaces Eros is by far the most popular men’s fragrance of the brand and rightly so. The perfume is named after the Greek god of love. The fragrance in the blue bottle reflects the sensually strong man. The combination of fresh mint leaves, lemon, green apple, tonka bean, amber and vanilla creates a male aura to fall in love with. Masculine notes such as zender wood and atlas add intensity to the perfume. A fragrance to linger in.

The most popular fragrance for women: Versace Eros Pour Femme

Created by Donatella Versace herself, the fragrance reflects the strong, passionate and seductive woman. Notes of lemon, jasmine and pomegranate make the fragrance exciting and distinctive. Woody notes like sandalwood, ambrox, musk give the fragrance its strength. The bottle convinces with its noble design.

Versace Crystal Noir the temptingly good smell of woman

Right after Versace Eros, the Versace Crystal Noir fragrance is at the top of Versace’s most popular fragrances. Crystal Noir, with spicy notes of cardamom, pepper and ginger, harmonizes the scents of gardenia, peony and orange blossom to sweeten the senses. The fragrance symbolizes sensual seduction and pure femininity, combining light but perceptible notes of sandalwood and musk to produce a perfectly played symphony of fragrances.

Colorful fashion shows, questions for Donatella Versace & Product Unboxing

Spring/ Summer 2020 Collection and Show

The Spring / Summer 2020 collection from Versace presented itself at Fashion Week as a celebration of modern masculinity while remaining true to the iconic characteristics of the brand. Colourful prints, different nuances are combined with innovative silhouettes. The show subtly shows a young man growing up. The oversized silhouettes and status symbols such as racing cars are reminiscent of this and are intended to allude to young people. The Versace man can express himself without restrictions. Powerful messages are expressed through playful accents. Contrasts are created by the animal prints and fabrics in combination with the formal dress style. The entire presentation of the show reflects the blossoming, for example the floral decoration around the catwalk. The extravagant Versace Spirit can be felt in every detail of the show.

Dolce & Gabbana, the designer duo!

Together, the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have created a fashion empire that is indispensable in today’s market. The luxurious fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has been celebrating successes at dizzying heights for decades and is popular with all age groups. Whether the “Woolmark Award” or the “Perfume Academy Award”, the designers have jointly designed their way to the top of the fashion world.

The story behind the designer duo

Dolce & Gabbana was founded in 1985 by the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The two colleagues met for the first time at the Italian fashion house Gabbana in Milan when Domenico Dolce applied for a job there. Stefano Gabbana immediately recognised his talent and the collaboration between the two began. They presented their first fashion collection in 1985 and opened the doors of their first store a year later.

Jerseys, Underwear & Swimwear by Dolce & Gabbana

Over the years, the designer duo began to design their own jersey line, underwear and swim costumes in addition to their classic fashion line in the high-priced range. The luxury fashion house finally expanded into the USA, Japan and various other countries, where Dolce & Gabbana founded their own showroom in 1990.

The men’s collection and other awards

The men’s collection was not long in coming and in 1992 inspired customers from all over the world. As one of the most innovative men’s collections of the year, the D&G collection won the Woolmark Award.  The company also celebrated further successes with perfumes for both women and men. In 2005, The New Yorker wrote about Dolce & Gabbana: “Dolce and Gabbana will be in the 2000s what Prada was in the 1990s and Armani in the 1980s – gli stilisti, whose sensibility will shape a decade. In the years that followed, the designer duo received several other personal awards. Dolce and Gabbana is still one of the most successful fashion brands in the world today.

Dolce & Gabbana also conquers the cosmetics industry

Dolce & Gabbana also offers a wide range of products in the cosmetics industry and is popular with young, but also mature ladies. The luxury brand offers everything a beauty heart desires, from pressed powder and macara to lipsticks and lip gloss. However, the brand celebrated the most successes with its excellent perfumes.

Dolce & Gabbana inspires with fragrance combinations

The designers further expanded their market position in the 90s. In 1992, the luxury fashion brand launched its first perfume on the market, the women’s fragrance “Dolce & Gabbana Parfum”, winning an award from the Perfume Academy. The brand’s first men’s fragrance was named “Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme” and also won an award from the same Academy shortly afterwards.

“Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme”

The first men’s fragrance of the luxury brand has not only appealed to Dolce & Gabbana fans immediately. With Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme is a spicy fresh fragrance. The charismatic bergamot, juicy mandarin and fresh lemon put the head of the fragrance together. At the heart are lavender, sage, tarragon and cardamom. The fragrance suits the stylish and self-confident man at any time of year and situation. The bottle is designed to fit perfectly into the palm of the male hand.

Dolce & Gabbana presents ”The One” distinctive fragrance

A classic from Dolce & Gabbana is the “The One” fragrance. Even the name of the sensual fragrance sounds appealing to every woman, because every woman wants to be “The One”. The fragrance is flowery, elegant and yet glamorous, perfect for every occasion and every situation. The face of the fragrance is also cleverly chosen. The beautiful actress Scarlett Johansson is the ambassador of “The One”.

The luxury brand relies on Flower Power with ”Floral Drop”

Dolce & Gabbana is again offering something innovative on the perfume market with its Floral Drops fragrance. The packaging is already elaborate and of high quality. The perfume is hidden in a small box of white leather. The box can be opened. Inside, there are small white flowers that already indicate the fragrance. In the middle of the flowers there is a frosted glass bottle and a cap in the shape of a flower. In any case, the bottle leaves an impression, which makes it almost a pity to use the fragrance. The fragrance itself is – who would have thought – very flowery. White amaryllis, white narcissus and white water lily are the main notes of this Dolce & Gabbana perfume. The floral-fresh top note can be associated with a spring morning. The scent of neroli leaves and papaya blossom rounds off the perfume.

Glamour pure everything in a handbag

The handbag designs of the duo are the fulfillment of every girl’s dream. In the bags you will find the typical extravagant look of Dolce & Gabbana. No trace of popular minimalism. The designers rely on embellishments, glitter, colours and prints and they do so successfully.

The ”Dolce Box Bag” storms the shops

Glitter, glamour and gold where the eye looks. The Dolce Box Bag is definitely an eye-catcher. This bag is definitely a must-have for all extravagant occasions. The bag can be bought from just under 1,000 euros. If you want to add the Dolce Box bag to your collection, you are spoilt for choice. The bag is available in countless variations and styles. That also means that for each type an individual bag is to be found completely after the own taste. Whether black with colourful details, in pen box look or completely in gold with ornate details, the possibilities are endless. The Box Bag by Harley Viera-Newton was styled entirely in gold with a baroque look at the Top Shop Show.

Simple, elegant and girly, the Devotion bag makes it possible

The Devotion bag is girly and elegant at the same time. With the ornate decorations and the golden details it picks up the iconic look of the designer duo. The golden heart as closure gives the bag a very feminine, almost cheeky girlish look. The Devotion bag is also available in many different designs and variations. It is available in almost all colours and different fabrics. For example, the Devotion bag made of velvet in bordeaux is popular. The styling piece can be combined with almost any outfit. Whether urban look or short black, this eye-catcher completes every look perfectly.

Extravagant design of the luxury empire Dolce & Gabbana

The brand’s floral motif is also reflected in Dolce & Gabbana’s shoe designs.

Sorrento Sneaker

The designers’ sneaker creations do not lack floral patterns, glitter and extravagance. Whether men or women sneakers, the designers always find an innovative way to deposit their handwriting and make the designs unmistakable. So are these Sorrento sneakers with logo print and glittering stones.

Rapid spread of the mega empire

Dolce and Gabbana has a total of 323 stores and is represented in 16 factory outlets. Production is in Italy, Milan and Legnano. In 2015, Dolce & Gabbana had around 4,500 employees. The brand has a turnover of 1 billion euros. The website of the luxury brand was launched in 2000. The online shop followed in 2009.

Fashion Shows, Backstage Insights, Boutiques and Co.

The designers give insights behind the scenes of the fashion shows and document the shows in an artistic way.

Fashion Show Autumn Winter 2019 / 2020

The famous, infamous men’s suits and designs of the brand were awarded the Woolmark Award in 1992.

A fashion show for the gods

The designers put together a wonderful fashion show in July 2019 in Sicily. The show is reminiscent of the stories of Greek mythology. Not only the location but also the robes and flowing dresses, the jewellery and the styling of the models take you to the Greek Olympus. The show was presented in the Parco Archeologico e Paesaggistico della Valle dei Templi di Agrigento and Comune di Agrigento.

Boutique in Milan

Dolce & Gabbana enchants its Milanese customers with the perfect combination of architecture, interior design and, of course, fashion. The designer duo’s creations can be presented in all their splendour in the Milan boutique and captivate visitors to the store in full effect.

Chanel, Gucci & Versace – Fashion Shows of the Most Luxurious Designers

Chanel, Gucci, Versace and many more. The world knows these great designers and each time again they inspire at the Fashion Week and numerous other fashion events with their unique fashion shows. Sometimes with an impressive backdrop, other times with incredible outfits that steal the show from every backdrop. We’ve picked out the best shows that have left us speechless in the editorial department.

How do you plan a fashion show? Read more here: Fashion Show Agency.

Saint Laurent Fashion Show Autumn/Winter 2019

As expected, the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, whose name is on everyone’s lips and his logo (YSL) is known worldwide, plunges us into a new world. With a giant mirror in which the models are mirrored and the lights shine up and down, he lets us dive into a kind of illusion. The colours of his clothes are black and grey. Long coats and fancy dresses with glowing elements remind us of diamonds.
The location changes and the music becomes more calming. Black light and neon glowing design run across the catwalk. It seems as if the dresses magically run over the carpet themselves.

A colourful fashion show with Jacquemus Spring 2020

The fashion show by Simon Porte Jacqemus, the French designer and founder of the fashion label Jacquemus, will thrill you with its flowery location. His models present his Spring collection on a catwalk that makes its way through a lavender field. The invited guests all sit on the edge of the front row of the show. The colours really describe the Spring theme, the colours blossom. You have the feeling of flower power in your head. He mixes a casual style with something chic and makes the clothes for it accessible to everyone.

Gucci Fall/Winter Fashion Show in Gold

The Italian fashion designer pulls out all the stops. Strikingly coloured garments and rivets, accessories such as golden ears, huge gold chains and long fur bowls magically attract the eyes of guests. The catwalk, which looks like luxurious marble and the golden lights, elevates the models on the runway into a royal sphere, as does the brand’s almost royal reputation among luxury brands. Gucci again shows that the size of his name is not unfounded. The colors of the fashion show don’t remind of Fall or Winter.

The Cruise – a time travel with Chanel

Chanel the luxury brand badly, invites the guests into a journey into the past. The location is reminiscent of a train station from the 80s. Get ready, Chanel will bring trousers back on the market with a long blow – only more elegant. The show is varied from grey to bright pink. Chanel also offers a wide and extensive range of accessories. From simple jewellery that hardly attracts attention to giant blue ribbons, the show offers a wide spectrum and many possible combinations. There is something for every taste. Chanel is proud of her name and shows us how timeless a design can be.

Versace Fall Fashion Show

It wouldn’t be Versace if you didn’t have a giant staple with her logo on it right in front of the catwalk. Versace remains faithful to his design, which the first model directly wears the well-known golden patterns on her dress. But also other outfits show this design. Golden details are a must-have for Versace. Famous models like Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid adorn the catwalk of Versace. Donnatella Versace remains true to her style. The location has a nearly 8 kind form, the guests are so distributed that there are hardly 2 rows. One has the feeling to be close to the model. The colours are daring, but Donnatella manages to create an outfit out of two biting colours that looks luxurious.

Anna K Runaway Fashion Show Fall / Winter

Directly the first model that came out showed me that Anna likes to work with other fabrics and has different ideas. Her transparent tops are extraordinary but still stylish. The looks she presents will attract the attention of the younger target groups of the fashion world. Their looks are not too unusual but different. Some of their looks are provocative but could become more appealing in the fashion world, especially with it-girls. The location is very simple, the colours are bluish.

Dior Fall/Winter Show 2019

An elderly lady opens the show in Italian, a slightly different kind of opening. The show takes place in a white-red chequered location. The style seems to have its muse in the past. Long skirts, chequered coats and hats covering the faces of the models seem to float over the catwalk. We from CM can see the details live in the first row. Sometimes a small clutch, then a handbag or rather a backpack. Dior doesn’t think much of clichés. Green seems to be the next fad. A colour that not everyone has in their wardrobe. But after the show I could imagine that many will change their mind.

Valentino Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2019/2020

Valentino invites us to a beautiful winter garden. The autumn/winter collection is presented by the models in coats and long robes, while the weather is wonderfully warm. If I had to describe the collection in one word, it would be ordinary. The style is for fashion-conscious buyers who also like to draw attention to themselves and put on an evening gown that might not be suitable for everyone. Valentino surprises with many different patterns and cuts. A small highlight are the expressive headdresses that the models wear on the catwalk. Also Gigi Hadid belongs to one of the well-known faces, which decorate the catwalk. An applause to Valentino, suitable location, suitable models and beautiful dresses. We are enthusiastic about the collection and the location.

Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2019/ 2020

Leather and long black leather boots draw our attention to the models on the catwalk. It couldn’t be more rocky. McQueen shows how stylish boots go with an elegant dress. Metallic coloured necklaces and earrings round off the Rockers style. Also the walk of the models is rather harder, the look strict. Leather jackets and leather distinguish the collection. Chequered and striped suits are once again becoming trendy here. But also pompous dresses are put into the right light by McQueen. For the location, the designer relies on a simple catwalk to set the point of view on the collection.

Givenchy Autumn/Winter 2019/ 2020

The motto of the first collection is Women’s Ready-To-Wear of the show and immediately it becomes clear what is meant. Women in long coats and blazers with wide shoulders will probably be a new one again. Givenchy also offers men a wide range of choices. The style is very simple, but still a little extravagant. The belt bag does not only fit to everyday clothes, Givenchy shows here. Also the belt on the coat looks very promising. Very important for the men: turtleneck and coat appear more and more on the catwalk. So if you want to wear the latest trend in winter, take a look at Givenchy.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring/ Summer 2019

Before the fashion show begins we are spellbound by the unique location. A huge golden wall with four mirrors reminds of the royal house. The catwalk in royal blue stretches out in front of it. For the eyes a spectacle, for the colour technique hardly a colour is omitted here. From golden suits to brightly coloured shirts and shorts, everything is on offer here. Mokkasins and private label sneakers are worn here to match the clothing. Cropped trousers are a must-have in every man’s wardrobe. Dolce & Gabbana’s collection creates a new fashion awareness for all generations and for many tastes. We at CM were delighted to have been at the Dolce& Gabbana Show.

Berlin Fashion Week – Designers Show Package Summer 2019

Berlin – The Fashion Week is coming up! Our show package for summer 2019 with our Berlin models and a few new arrivals. We are looking forward to the shows from 1 – 4 July and many great memories of another summer in Berlin.

#BFW – The Models

The Fashion Show – Catwalk & Catwalk Tips for Models

You are not a professional on the catwalk yet? Then take a look at our tips for the catwalk! Of excessive importance is an upright posture. You should be able to balance a book on your head. Pull your shoulders back and push your pelvis a little forward. Make sure you do not lean back too much. When you take the first step on the catwalk, you should always be the first to use your ball of the foot. Almost like you want to sneak. This looks a lot more elegant than when you first appear with the hoes.

Run with momentum and character: Find your balance

The important thing is that you put one foot in front of the other. You really should literally take this to heart. Your gait should form a zigzag. Thus, you also get the necessary momentum, which makes your walk only appear characteristic. Your steps should be great, but you should not do a splits. Also always remember to swing your hip. Always move your arms and hands evenly. It should not look like you have two stiff arms.

Your focus should be on the catwalk to a point in front of you

Your look should adapt to the style of your clothes. Try to smile with your eyes and keep your chin always lifted. Keep your head straight and steady. At the end of the catwalk is usually always the rotation. Put your left foot in front and pause for a few very short beats of the music. You should turn your shoulders and feet sideways while your head is still pointing forward and you are looking over your shoulders. After the break, turn your foot in the opposite direction and start to run with the front right foot. Only at the end do you turn your face away from the spectators.

But the most important thing is that you try to get your character involved in your walk. And you should always find yourself very attractive. Because only when you are convinced of yourself, you can convince the audience of you.

  • If you still can not walk well on high shoes, then you will learn it quickly with a little practice. My ultimate tip to keep you from slipping on the catwalk is to lick the soles of your higheels with some lemonade or coke. Your soles start to stick after a short time and you will surely strut over the catwalk.
  • Watch catwalk videos of really good models or visit the fashion shows yourself.
  • Let your friends film while running and posing. You can then watch the videos, and you’ll see for yourself what else you need to fix on yourself.
  • It does not matter if you stumble but you should get up dignified and keep going. Even in such stressful and embarrassing situations, you should stay professional and self-confident.
Try to smile with your eyes (Smize: Smile with your eyes).

Marcel Ostertag x Fashion Week 2019

Marcel Ostertag, who studied at the renowned Central St. Martin College in London, founded his eponymous label Marcel Ostertag in 2006. With 16 shows presented at the Fashion Week in Berlin, it is an integral part of the MBFW. We were live again this year and were amazed by his show, like every year.

Marcel Ostertag – The Primeval Rock of Fashion Week

Marcel Ostertag is both maker and brand. Inspired by the streets of Munich and the special flair of the Viktualienmarkt, Marcel Ostertag designs his collections in his studio in the Gärtnerplatz quarter, which are produced exclusively in Germany. In his collections, however, the designer does not only pay attention to optics. It is very important to him that the person who wears his designs also feels comfortable. For this reason, he regularly visits fabric fairs so that he can guarantee good wearing comfort.

What does Marcel Ostertag stand for?

Love is in the details, says Ostertag. This is exactly what the designer wants to implement. Through details his collections should be timeless, preferably eternal. The designer himself says that his target group is not necessarily the rich and beautiful, but anyone who loves and appreciates quality and pays attention to details. It is important that your customers care about wearing things that only a few others wear.

Autumn/Winter 2019 at the Berlin Fashion Week

Like every year, Ostertag proved itself this year at the Fashion Week 2019 in Berlin. Made of matt rosé shiny sequins on a short pendant, he styles a rough turtleneck sweater in olive green and adds metallic buckles to the coarse, orange-coloured straps of the dress. His talent for material combination, which can hardly be surpassed, he simply proves again and again. We were enthusiastic about the production and are looking forward to the next Fashion Week to be inspired by him.

Irene Luft – Dark Paradise at the #MBFW

Irene Luft is already an established name in the fashion industry. At this year’s Fashion Week Berlin, she will once again be convincing with the theme “Dark Paradise”. We were there live for you and let Irene show us the dark side of the fashion world.

First Germanys Next Topmodel, then Fashion Week

Irene Luft founded her label of the same name in 2008. One year later she was already allowed to design a collection for the 4th season of the TV production Germanys Next Topmodel, which was then presented by the young models in the show. Since then, the luxury prêt-à-porter brand has inspired the catwalks of the world. The brand’s signature is its modern yet hard-to-define, feminine and romantic style with a touch of progressiveness.

Irene celebrates great success

After completing her studies at the Academy for Fashion and Design in Munich, she founded her own brand. Shortly after, the big breakthrough. Their originality and strong personality are reflected in the breathtaking dresses. By processing noble and expensive fabrics into fashion suitable for everyday use, they have attracted the attention of many great personalities. Her loyal customers include Franziska Knuppe, Verona Pooth and Viktoria Lauterbach. Irene Luft also has customers in the United Arab Emirates.

Irene air autumn/winter 2019 at the MBFW

The dark side of Fashion Week – Irene Luft presents us “Dark Paradise”. Under this name, the various items of clothing run across the catwalk.  Noble dresses with black lace, long gloves on which fringes are stuck with coloured accents let it appear elegant and noble. The make-up is selected to match the outfits. Light skin with black accents on the eyes and white contact lenses that give the overall look a certain “horror look”. We think it was more than just a show, Irene Luft gave us an experience with Dark Paradise.

Fashion Show – Fashion, Designer and Fashion Weeks in Germany

You have to organize your first fashion show in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich and don’t know where to start yet? In our small agency 1×1 for models and designers you will find all the important points you need to consider when planning a fashion show. From the first model casting to the rehearsal before the show. As an agency we have already accompanied several fashion shows, among others together with Daab at the Mercedes-Benz Cologne Fashion Days. Based on our experience as young designers we not only want to give you tips for planning, but also a small checklist!

Fashion show definition – What is a fashion show exactly?

fashion show according to Duden – catwalk, runway, fashion show, …

A fashion show is defined in the Duden as “an event at which the latest fashions are presented”. This is very broad. Closer illuminated is a fashion show the presentation of fashion collections in a certain staging. The collections of designers and labels are usually presented seasonally on the catwalk by models. The staging of the fashion show can be determined individually, there is no generally defined procedure. As a rule, a fashion show ends with a repeated, fast appearance of all models of the show and the “bowing” of the designer to the audience. The audience can be either the general public or an exclusive circle of invited guests and/or the press. As a rule, however, every fashion show focuses on a few key points in the organisation of agencies:

  1. Needed List – All details of planning / PR / Show in highlights
  2. Model Casting – The perfect models and measurements for the fashion collection
  3. Choreography – A detailed planning of the individual “pictures” (scenes)
  4. Public Relations – We inspire the right people from the label
  5. Rehearsal – Final dress rehearsal for all models of the fashion show
  6. Fashion show – The big moment for fashion designers
  7. Press work – After the show is before the show!

Berlin Fashion Week 2016 – Model Manager: Behind the scenes

Twice a year the fashion industry is drawn to the capital for Berlin Fashion Week. While visitors and the media are mainly interested in shows, buyers and managers from various stores and fashion houses meet at Berlin’s fashion fairs. They all take place parallel to the different fashion shows. In 2016, public events focused primarily on two locations: The “Runway”, beautifully located at the Brandenburg Gate and the “Stage”, Berlin Mitte and easily accessible by shuttle bus from the “Runway”. From Monday to Saturday the motto was: Fashion! Over ten shows, various side events and aftershow parties every day. There was something for everyone. Highlights this year included Marc Cain, Guido Maria Kretschmar, Anne Gorke, and many more. The absolute highlight, however, was the “Candy Fashion”, Key Looks by FashionID (Peek & Cloppenburg) with numerous looks from Esprit to comma; A hall full of cotton candy, sweets and style – but later more about the

Fashion Week Model Management – Preparations, Emails and Networking

For us as managers, Fashion Week naturally starts weeks before – in December. Work starts about six weeks before Fashion Week. In addition to the notebook, the smartphone is a constant companion. The first show packages will be released by the designers. A show package contains among other things the models’ sedcards, but also Polaroids and walking videos. Major modeling agencies are already making special efforts to get the coveted invitations – some even create special sedcards for this event. Why? Fashion Week represents the who is who of the fashion world. Those who can afford it are present here. Therefore it is important to start work early enough. The better the planning in advance, the smoother the castings, fittings and shows run!

While an agency is already rushing into travel plans, overnight stays and the organisation of appointments, the invitations to the castings are gradually coming in. As mentioned above, about fifty individual shows will take place during Fashion Week. This means that there are almost as many model casings in Berlin in advance. A real job.

Models, catwalk training, print sedcards – preparation is half the battle

For us there were almost thirty interesting casting dates this season. We had 10 of our New Faces & catwalk models on site. Just arrived, the rented AirBnB apartment is already being converted into an office for the team. Notebooks, smartphones, casting lists – so that we can work and coordinate perfectly in Berlin, directly from Potsdamer Platz. Advantage: Digital company! We can work anytime and anywhere, so we like to accompany our models on shows and shootings.

We have four days! From notebook to reflex camera, we have everything in our luggage. Monday starts Fashion Week and a few days before, the castings. Most of the Berlin Fashion Week castings take place in the hotels, Berlin Mitte. Anyone who has ever been to a casting knows that many models are coming. Mostly there are even hundreds from all over Germany and partly Europe. Each casting takes place in separate floors and rooms. Immediately after the entrance the first beats form in front of the rooms – from now on it’s time to wait until you can stand in front of the jury. Suddenly the huge hotel lobby is full of people, small suitcases and waiting looks.

Day 1: Arrival and the first casting plans for the shows

Friday 15.01.2015: The Berlin Fashion Week AW 2016 always consists of two parts, the castings and the shows. For spectators often only the important days with the big shows count. For models, however, the days before are crucial. Here, before Fashion Week, model castings for shows and fashion shows take place throughout the city centre. Hundreds of models gather in the capital’s large hotels, but also in showrooms, Ateiliers and agencies. All major agencies are present here. Fashion Week does not only mean prestige, you can make excellent contacts and get to know a lot of new things. The Berlin flair also gives the Fashion Week its unique character. Many models book into the hotels around the city centre. This makes the castings easier to reach and also in the evening there is some time to have a drink with friends or new acquaintances.

Day 2: casting, casting, casting

Saturday 16.01.2015: For four days models and fashion agents speed through the city centre. Everyone is looking for the best jobs and the biggest shows. In the bag are only the most important things, the smartphone is always ready to hand and from morning to evening it goes from casting to casting. While there is a lot of walking during the day, the evening is decisive for the planning of the next day. Which casting should you attend first and which last? Where to find good food quickly and easily? Besides, you have small talk with other models, get more castings. Four days is all about seeing and being seen!

Who knows Castings of Germanys Next Topmodel will be surprised. There is no big stage, no spotlights and only rarely cameras. As a model you have hardly any time, not ten minutes, maximum thirty seconds. Who convinces spontaneously, is often still briefly measured or sent directly to a fast fitting. The jury consists of three or four people who have to evaluate hundreds of people according to purely external criteria within a few hours. As a result, castings often seem impersonal, but this is purely due to time.

The castings usually take place in large city centre hotels, with large rooms and plenty of space for hundreds of models waiting for their Gosee. Small groups are always forming in the waiting rooms, everyone is waiting for the casting call, then the show starts. With the model book and sedcard, the jury is made up mostly of designers, marketing people or other media and production people. Usually there are three or four people. The model walks up to the jury and introduces himself, often with very little time, many only seconds. Many models see here for the first time how big and how strong the competition is in their own and in other model agencies.

Those who have convinced often get a call from their model agent the same evening with the confirmation. Especially good models are also quickly booked so that they are still available for their own fashion show. So the best Mdoels have their success experiences already early – if they did not have first a Direct Booking.

The time in the casting requires a lot of commitment, organisational talent and willpower from the models. Even after the sixth performance on one day you still have to laugh and enjoy your job – even if there were six cancellations before. With this know-how, however, models can learn a lot for jobs and also strengthen their own self-confidence as well as their own perception. The short, but very intense situation with hundreds of other models, shows many a realistic picture and spurs them on to do even more.

The first castings for the shows start Thursday/Friday and then run until Monday evening. Occasionally, however, castings are also carried out before and even during the current Fashion Week. So if you are thinking of joining us as a model, you should plan ten days off.

  • Castings you get almost only with a large, serious model agency or an experienced model agent
  • Show castings go from Thursday to Monday
  • Berlin Fashion Week from Tuesday to Saturday
  • So as a model you should plan on 10 days
  • At least Thursday to Tuesday

Fashion Week Castings and decision of fashion designers

Many designers or agencies usually make their decision on the same day. They will then contact you via all channels to secure the best models. Because every fashion show includes a fitting and calltime. During fitting, clothes are tried on the models, which is usually very quick and only takes thirty minutes. The call time is then, so to speak, the start of work on the show day. All models, brand-up artists and stylists gather at calltime. All models get their assigned clothes as well as their styling. The calltime is therefore often a few hours before the show so that all models are guaranteed to be ready and the show can start on time.

  • Big competition: hundreds of great models meet each other
  • Often there is little time left for individual castings
  • Don’t forget your sedcard

The Fashion Week is much more than castings and shows. At Berlin Fashion Week, thousands of buyers from all over Germany come together in the various order fairs, less spectacularly and media-wise. Whether Panorama, Preium or Seek. Outside the shows there is also a lot to experience for people from the fashion industry.

fashion-week-berlin-cocaine-models-backstage-behind-the-scenes-show

Order and Fair – the heart of Fashion Week

For many outsiders, Fashion Week means above all shows! Fashion shows are held daily at various locations. In 2016 (Autumn/Winter) everything will focus on the collections of the coming Spring/Summer season. While snow still lies outside in the streets of Berlin, buyers jump from fair to fair to cover themselves with the latest trends.

One of the major order fairs is the international fashion fair “Premium”. At hundreds of stands, merchants crowd together large and well-known brands. Buyers can view and order the latest samples directly here. The fair is only open to trade visitors, so fortunately you have enough space to concentrate on different looks, cuts and colours. While strolling from hall to hall on the Premium, there are small delicacies, coffee and also small and large highlights of the exhibitors all along the edge. Not only fashion, but also accessories and jewellery. At the “Premium”, the manufacturers even fill their own hall. Further fashion fairs can be found all over Berlin. Among other things, there are still the “Seek” and “Panorama”, all only a few underground or suburban train stations apart.

Fittings for the big fashion shows at the runway

For model agents and model agencies, the final phase is now underway. It takes less than an hour to recharge your phone. While Desigenr’s assistants call to request models, models request the first fitting and call times and in parallel the first confirmations must be sent via e-mail. The phone doesn’t stop for three days and as a manager it’s hard to get away from the notebook. Therefore the show list fills up, confirmation for confirmation. Models receive asap their information and designers the booking confirmation. Even on Monday evening, plans are still being made for the coming morning – and off we go: It’s Fashion Week!

Shows and events at Fashion Week

From Tuesday to Saturday there are now possible shows and aftershow parties of the designers. Ten designers will kick off on Tuesday. Already on the first day it became clear that there would only be a free minute again at the end of Fashion Week. Our first show this year was “Ivanman” on the “Stage” in the me Collectors Room. Early in the morning, 11 o’clock. Already last season Ivanman made a top start. Oh, this year. Immediately afterwards we went on with “Nobi Talai” in Berlin’s Kronprinzenpalai with our Yulha. Followed by a very floral show by the designer “Lena Hoschek”, perfectly arranged in one line from the place card to the stage. After that jump to the greenshowroom in the Postbahnhof, where our Alex had his first show, parallel Anne and David ran for Odeur at the “Runway” Brandenburger Tor. And the day was only half over – show after show it went on for the next four days.

Fortunately, we were not only allowed to run on the first show, also on Friday two of our models, Helena and Lisa, on the final show of “Ioana Ciolacu”. With creative make-up and strong pictures afterwards.

The big finale: Candy Fashion – KEY LOOKS Show by FashionID

The biggest highlight of the current fashion week took place on Saturday in a “small” circle of people. Top models, stars, agency and media representatives met at the KEY LOOKS Show from “FashionID” by “Peek & Cloppenburg”. The motto was “Candy Fashion”. The entire lobby of Fashion Week at the Brandenburg Gate was transformed into candy and cotton candy land – everything looked like a Katy Perry video. Really great staged by the set designer. Between cotton candy and human-sized lollipops there were cool, refined drinks at various bars, a great DJ and many little surprises and snacks. Almost two hundred people gathered left and right around the catwalk, which in turn was decorated with cotton candy at the entrance up to the ceiling, pink light and lollipops made the picture of “Candy Fashion” perfect.

fashion-id-models-runway-modenschau-peek-cloppenburg-key-looks-2016-candy-fashion-berlin fashion-id-models-runway-modenschau-peek-cloppenburg-key-looks-2016-candy-fashion-berlin-konfetti  fashion-id-models-runway-modenschau-peek-cloppenburg-key-looks-2016-candy-fashion-topmodel-johanna-cocaine-models-outfit fashion-id-models-runway-modenschau-peek-cloppenburg-key-looks-2016-candy-fashion-topmodel-johanna-cocaine-models-urban-outfit

At the beginning, eight models from a classic cotton candy wagon stood across the catwalk with sweet sugar threads. That put a smile on almost everyone’s face! Shortly thereafter, Showtime, the keylooks of the coming season, was available in all Peek & Cloppenburg stores and online on FashionID. With fashion by Esprit, Marc Cain and Max&Co. Moderated by Annemarie Carpendale (Red and Taff on ProSieben). Each collection got its own music, its own staging for the audience. Our Johanna also attended and showed a total of three looks for the spring/summer season 2016, culminating in creative outsfits for the fashion magazines – each editorial team put together their favourite pieces from the new collections and combined them with accessories and other pieces. Thus, new creations and looks for 2016 were immediately lost.

CM – Models Berlin

Fashion Week Berlin Highlights 2015: Guido Maria Kretschmer to HolyGhost

For the 17th time the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week took place in Berlin. capital, fashion metropolis and always at the cutting edge of fashion trends and style. Well-known designers presented their spring/summer collections 2016 in numerous fashion shows, including Hugo Boss, Lena Hoschek, Riani, Guido Maria Kretschmer and many more. They all attracted fashion enthusiasts and international trade visitors to the capital for Fashion Week. The main attraction was the Mercedes Benz Fashion tent, directly behind the Brandenburg Gate. Young, innovative, but also established fashion designers also presented their collections and designs in several off-locations. Our Cocaine Models-Model Bookerin Regina Steinpress was live on site and captured the most beautiful backstage moments.

Highlights on Tuesday – The first shows

The Berlin Fashion Week starts this year on 07.07.2015 with the first opening shows. With the highlight “Panorama Berlin” and the side event “IT COUTURE – The Fashion & Technology Exhibition”. Both start punctually at 09.00 o’clock. The seats are of course occupied until the last one, music is released: Fashion! It’s not over until the afternoon. The first fashion show gets the fashion label “Sopopular Menswear” and opens the catwalk with the collection “The Last March Before Victory”. The combination of military elements and Asian style is a perfect match for the fashion label. This is followed by several trade fairs, shows, side events and fashion shows in which renowned designers such as Lena Hoschek and Marc Cain present their new collections.

Particularly interesting are the many so-called side events at Berlin Fashion Week, because most of the time anyone can visit them without an invitation. These are not as well-known and highly official as the shows in the Mercedes Benz Fashion tent, where only invited guests have access.
Catwalk – Impressions from the catwalk

Our models at Fashion-Week Berlin

Also three of our Cocaine models proved themselves in the castings. They are part of Berlin Fashion Week and run the catwalk for various fashion designers. Simon walks the catwalk for fashion label Brachmann, a classic in men’s fashion, which this time took place at the stage location in the “Me Collectors Room”. Another highlight of Fashion Week for our model Simon is that he is the only model to conquer the catwalk for the new women’s collection of the fashion label Riani. Our Nikola presents the fashion of Pearly Wong, an independent design label, made of monochrome garments with unique materials. And Niklas takes part in the colourful and varied IVANMAN fashion show, which is intended to provide an impetus for more colour. There are not many looks in the collection, but well thought-out and stylish! Just as one knows it from the designer Ivan Mandzukic.

Highlights on Wednesday – The great designers

Of course, the second day of Fashion Week in Berlin will be an exciting day. A lot of other shows by famous designers like Anja Gockel or William Fan follow. Also the aftershow parties in the evening pile up, many celebrities, models and bloggers gather to celebrate.

A special fashion show was that of designer and TV darling Guido Maria Kretschmer. With his new collection “Bon Voyage” he presented his latest autumn/winter fashion 2015. Couture and “Ready to Wear” looks are combined for simple elegance and femininity. Stefanie Giesinger and Betty Taube, two then Germanys next top model candidates, can also be found on the catwalk.

Another highlight is the show of the designer duo Holy Ghost. Great Crested Grebe, an exclusive “in-location” with pool in Berlin, was transformed into an extraordinary catwalk. The catwalk runs over the water and is laid with an oriental carpet, which keeps the atmosphere very Mediterranean. Hundreds of visitors gather to take part in this spectacle.

Our models continue to conquer the catwalks

One of our Cocaine models is getting another catwalk job. Simon is allowed to participate in the third show so far and presents the new Spring/Summer collection 2015 by designer Franziska Michael. With a very creative and crazy outfit he walks casually over the catwalk.

Between Catwalk and Germanys next topmodels

Highlights on Thursday – almost 30° & Fashion

Shows and masses at noon, parties in the evening. This is the motto of Fashion Week in Berlin. Also on Thursday there are some highlights not to miss.
Fashion designer Michael Michalsky can be seen again this time! After he was not at the Fashion Week in January, because of the Ebola outbreak in Africa, for which he donated a considerable amount, he is back in July. With his first couture collection “Atelier Michalsky” he wants to create new favourite pieces. As expected, he inspires with his latest collection of trade visitors, as well as fashion enthusiasts.

Another absolute highlight on this day is the Dutch model Doutzen Kroes. Last week in Paris – today in Berlin. The famous Victoria’s Secret model is not on the catwalk this time, but at the Mercedes Benz Press Vernisasge, where she poses in an enchanting evening dress.

Our Models

Also on Thursday one of our Cocaine models will be present. Nikola takes part in the “Panorama Berlin” fashion fair. The fair starts on the first day and presents the most important trends of the coming season, which include women’s and men’s collections as well as accessories from leading lifestyle brands.

Highlights on Friday – spectacular finish

Also on the last day of Fashion Week, Friday, there are some highlights, as well as spectacular shows.

Especially exciting is the Michalsky Stylenite, with which Fashion Week ends, as every year. This year, however, with a “light version”. There the designer, his collection and the Fashion Week will be celebrated once again. Of course, all seats are taken at this highlight, because everyone wants to be there at this special end! On the catwalk you can see flowing dresses in pastel shades, as well as a lot of fabric with flowers. The floral wreaths on the heads of the men’s models are particularly striking. The more conspicuous – the better!

But also many other designers like Ewa Herzog, Dorothee Schumacher or the Turkish designer Emre Erdemoglu, who also present their collections on the last day, have a lot of fabric with flowers on display. So-called “flood pants” also seem to be back in fashion! Turtleneck sweaters and shoulderless tops are very often seen on the catwalks in the German fashion metropolis!

Exclusive Model Coaching: Catwalk Training and Personality / Acting

Personality. Posing. Catwalk. Sunday morning started our long prepared model coaching in our agency building in Cologne’s Mediapark. Two experienced model coaches, Lutz and Omega, supported our Cocaine Models team with a personality coaching and a catwalk training for the models. The response was great and our models were highly motivated to improve their skills. Michelle accompanied our models and gives a short insight into the exclusive model coaching.

Well structured model coaching

At half past nine our Cocaine Models team starts with the last preparations for the Model Coaching in the Mediapark in Cologne. Screens are set up, small snacks prepared and the camera equipment checked. The first models arrive on time at half past nine. We are excited and the models are already looking forward to the exclusive model coaching. The day is well structured, starting with personal coaching at Lutz, followed by catwalk training at catwalk expert Omega. Besides, short videos of our models are shot and Polaroid photos are taken.

Personality coaching with modeling professional Lutz

Lutz enters the room, numerous pairs of eyes examine the self-confident personal coach, who also works as an experienced model. His charisma is likeable and engaging, we are convinced: He can give our models a lot in the matter of “appearance” with customers. He talks entertainingly about his experiences in the model industry, emphasizing how important the charisma and body language alone are for the first impression. Very important: Our models must understand that their body is the decisive working instrument. A training in advance is very important, everyone must get to know his body exactly. The charisma is not only conveyed by emotions, that is new to many. Body Language: An underestimated means to show character. The models must take up space with their aura and show full presence. Interesting: Customers read the characteristics of potential models based on their posture, without many words is a judgment made, job: Yes or no!

How to convey emotions correctly

How do I look sexy? How do I radiate grief when I’m not sad at all? How can I develop anger at the push of a button? Typical thoughts and problems of a model. Acting talent is a must in the modeling business. Just like an actor, a good model must be able to slip into different roles. While the models learn different posing tricks, our photographer Oli takes Polaroid photos and performance videos with each model in single passes. English language skills are tested: Everyone must introduce themselves briefly in English. Lutz goes through some exercises with the other models and lets them recreate typical situations from everyday model life. Shy models have no chance to hide in the crowd, Lutz proves his skills. After one and a half hours, Lutz is almost unstoppable and our models are thrilled, the personality coaching is coming to an end. In cooperation with Lutz, our photographer Oli carries out a short sample shooting with some of the models in front of the group. The newly learned posing techniques are immediately demonstrated. The coaching has had an effect! Our models skilfully implement the learned posing tricks. At the end of the training Oli gives the models some tips for working with different photographers. Now the whole team deserves a short break. The small snack buffet lures with different delicacies and coffee smell fills the foyer.

Catwalk Coaching with catwalk professional Omega

Catwalk professional Omega is already waiting motivated in the event room. Our models occupy their seats with fresh energy and satisfied faces. Omega starts with a big smile and a short straight-walk. WOW, he knows his stuff. His top catwalk rule: Every catwalk performance is about selling! Pressure and internal tension are good, but there must still be a special serenity. The presentation on the catwalk must be controlled, yet relaxed and natural. Fashion is in the foreground, the models only present the products. You have to play a role not only during photo shoots, but also on the catwalk. Omega introduces different catwalk types and does some exercises with the models. The event room is filled with sales rattling, the models improve their weaknesses under Omega’s instructions. Omega spreads a good mood, the models are motivated and constantly improving. Especially the posing turn turns out to be a small catwalk trap. No problem! The group takes it with humor: Like actors on a film set, our models repeat their walks until Omega gives his “Go”. The final walk ends the instructive and entertaining catwalk training. Let’s hear it for Omega!

After the success comes the relaxation

The last show videos will be available soon. Our entire team is gathering and the models are performing their new Catwalk arts. Satisfactory feedback goes through the round. We are proud of our protégés and grateful for the great work of the coaches. A successful Sunday comes to an end. From 5 pm the models make their way home with many new insights. Our Cocaine Models team takes down the props and sets off for the well-earned weekend.

Model measurements for catwalks and fashion shows

Fashion is always something special. Fashion lives on Being special! New fashion collections are regularly released by designers worldwide, every season. Not only major international fashion designers and retail chains are working. Even small fashion labels have to constantly present new designs and styles to their customers to gain their attention. So designers and fashion have to reinvent themselves time after time to stay interesting for consumers.

Shows in Milan, New York, Paris, Hong Kong and London

At the Fashion Weeks the new masterpieces are regularly presented. In Milan, New York, Paris, Hong Kong and London. In spring, summer, autumn and winter, people are always looking for new looks and trends. Almost all designers have one thing in common, they tailor their collections for tall, slender people as mentioned in every post to similar topics. The clothes are more elegant, fabrics unfold their full effect, everything looks more exclusive and high quality! Delicate figures make clothes and their possible price more expensive. Even if not all fashion brands work in this scheme, it’s the majority of the industry.

Dimensions for fashion show

Fashion shows and fashion presentations are subject to an unwritten standard. For female models, a dress size of 34 (maximum 34/36) with a height of 177-180 (176-181) cm is considered ideal at the beginning of the career. Your hip should be under 91cm. Men’s models usually have a clothing size of 48 (max 50/52) with a height of 185-192 cm. A tip here for men’s models: At the beginning of the career you should pay attention as a male model on a younger look. If you look too masculine in your early years as a model, you’ll quickly get a chance on jobs in the fashion industry and on casting. That’s why you should always go to Castings with a shaved beard as a male model in the first years.

Measure yourself!

These are the measurements points for your first modeling agency application. Take care, that you are totally honest. More about: Take your own measurements for agencies, castings and jobs.

Fashion shows at Fashion Week – The fashion capitals

Every big city has its own fashion week, in which various larger or smaller designers present their new fashion collections with models in staged shows. The first fashion week took place in New York City in the early 1940s. The former name of Fashion Week was “Press Week”. The audience at the fashion weeks of this world is different and ranges from buyers of big fashion chains to celebrities and fashion enthusiasts. The big fashion weeks take place, with the exception of twice a year. This allows designers to present their spring and summer collections, as well as their autumn and winter collections, to a wide audience and with great media effort. Among the world’s most influential fashion weeks are the so-called “Big Four”: New York, Paris, London and Milan.

Fashion Week – Start and course of fashion week

The fashion shows of well-known designers such as Marc Jacobs or Georgio Armani usually take 15 minutes, there are of course deviations. Every designer realizes his own visions with the fashion show. There is therefore no fixed sequence of the individual fashion shows. Most designers take a basic sequence for orientation. In every fashion show there is an opening model that is very important for the designer. The first impression of his fashion collections on the critical audience must be perfect. The models usually present several outfits and walk twice over the catwalk. There is a graduation model that is also of great importance to the designer. The highlight of the collection is intended to surprise and fascinate the audience at the end of the show. At the end of each fashion show the models run one after the other, together across the catwalk and show the audience their outfit once again.

Fashion Week New York – the “Who’s Who” of the fashion industry

Sitting in the front row of New York Fashion Week: A dream of many young girls! Whoever has made it here is an integral part of the fashion scene and belongs to the inner circle. Fashion Week in New York is one of the most exclusive and successful fashion weeks in the world. With this in mind, Fashion Week in the Big Apple opens Fashion Weeks every season as the first of the fashion capitals. While Bryant Park used to be the venue for the fashion shows, today the Lincoln Center is the fashion hot spot of New York Fashion Weeks. More than 50 main shows by well-known designers such as Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors or Ralph Lauren inspire the audience in the Lincoln Center. In addition to the big fashion shows, there are numerous smaller fashion shows in galleries or other exclusive locations in Manhattan. Models present the new women’s and men’s collections, while painting and female-models walk the catwalk together to some extent. The number of visitors to DES Fashion-Event is in six digits. Fashion editors and fashion bloggers are competing for the coveted spots next to the catwalk.

Michael Kors Show – New York Fashion-Week Fall 2015

Fashion-Week Paris – the cream of women’s fashion

In addition to the New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week is also of great importance in the fashion scene. The Paris Fashion Week usually takes place last, after the fashion weeks of the other three fashion metropolises. The Fashion Week Paris programme includes more than 90 major fashion shows. Highlights include the fashion shows by Chanel, Dior and Alexander McQueen. The fashion collections of the designers exude a mysterious charm, a flair that makes Paris a very special fashion city. At the Fashion Week Pret-à-porter Fashion is presented for the most part. But even the popular haute couture is not missed out in Paris: at numerous evening events, fashion enthusiasts can watch the haute coutur shows. In Paris, haute couture, an upmarket art of tailoring, was born. Extravagant, high-quality, expensive and not suitable for everyday use. Fashion that is also interpreted as true art for outsiders. The haute couture elements of the fashion collections are the highlights of every designer. The development of haute couture was a triumph of fashion history and still shapes the fashion scene today. The idea for classic fashion shows as we know them today also originated in Paris. After an influential designer of the time, Mr. Charles Frederick Worth, opened several fashion houses in France, he began to have his collections presented by models. His vision: to present fashion in the best possible way. A marketing strategy that took off and became an achievement of the fashion industry.

Chanel Haute-Couture Show Fall-Winter 2015/ 16

Men don’t miss out in London: during the “London Collections Men” event, the new men’s fashion is presented. Following the London Fashion Weeks, the so-called “Fashion Weekend” takes place, which, unlike the Fashion Week, is open to the public and mainly serves retailers.

Fashion Week Milan – the city lives fashion
