Paris Fashion Week – Fashion, Lifestyle and Haute Couture! Paris Fashion Week is back and offers high fashion without end from March 1-10. Designers and fashion houses like Chloé, Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton and more present their new collections at the digital fashion week. Fashion Week highlights and eye-catchers

Paris Fashion Week in March 2021 is the culmination of four major fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and finally Paris. In four consecutive weeks, designers and artists have presented their collections for the womenswear season autumn/winter 2021/2022 – under the shadow of the Corona Pandemic. But that didn’t make the fashion industry flinch at all, at the virtual Fashion Week in Paris the best designers presented their creations: The focus is all on fashion. These are our highlights!

Chloé: Ponchos, Dresses & Bags

The first collection from Chloé’s new creative director, Gabriela Hearst, unveils her first runway for the fashion label exactly one hundred years after Chloé founder Gaby Aghion’s birth. According to Hearst, the autumn-winter 21 collection is informed and inspired by sustainability and a commitment to the greater good. Ponchos made from recycled cashmere, dresses made from superfine wool gauze, the recycled Edith bags or the Sheltersuit.

Acne Studios: Swedish fashion house

The Swedish fashion house presents its next fall/winter collection at Paris Fashion Week. According to Acne Studios, this collection was created in isolation and inspired by what happens when we come back to life and enter the normal world.

Vivienne Westwood: Fashion Designer & Activist

Vivienne Westwood is one of the last independent global fashion companies in the world. Westwood makes fashion about more than just making clothes and accessories, she raises awareness of environmental and human rights issues and is recognised as one of the world’s most influential fashion designers and activists. She presents her new collection in a creative film that is rather less like a normal fashion show with a simple runway walk.

The modern luxury brand was founded in 1997 by Thierry Gillier and is under the artistic direction of Cecilia Bönström. At Paris Fashion Week, Zadig & Voltaire’s motto is “Love Yourself”. The collection will be presented in an exciting runway in front of giant screens showing the streets of major cities.

Givenchy: Exclusive women’s fashion

Who is Bermuda, and what triggered it?

Bermuda, is a controversial blonde virtual model from LA since 2016, who is known for stirring up the digital world of social media. The virtual model is very politically related and was a Trump supporter, her views have since changed. She also did not believe in climate change. She brought other scandalous actions that helped gain more followers. April 2018, Bermuda hacked Miquela’s Instagram account. In the process, she deleted many photos and posted computer-generated avatars, including her photos. She wrote in the description:

“Hi guys! This is Bermuda. Sooooo… You have been lied to by a fake person. Who literally buys that for a second? Apparently a lot of you. …Sorry, Miquela. I tried texting you, I tried calling, but you keep ignoring me. You brought this on yourself, girl ?. Leave me a comment if you care about the truth, k? ? Follow me @bermudaisbae.”

However, this brought Miquela to 1 million followers on Instagram, and was a milestone that opened a lot of doors in the influencer world, including lucrative brand deals with celebrity designers. Miquela didn’t let herself get down and kept trying to prove to people that she was a real person. And that’s exactly what Bermuda didn’t like. She posted pictures on her own Instagram account and continued to threaten Miquela. The two have since reconciled and are now very good friends.

Saint Laurent Fashion Show Autumn/Winter 2019

As expected, the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, whose name is on everyone’s lips and his logo (YSL) is known worldwide, plunges us into a new world. With a giant mirror in which the models are mirrored and the lights shine up and down, he lets us dive into a kind of illusion. The colours of his clothes are black and grey. Long coats and fancy dresses with glowing elements remind us of diamonds.
The location changes and the music becomes more calming. Black light and neon glowing design run across the catwalk. It seems as if the dresses magically run over the carpet themselves.

A colourful fashion show with Jacquemus Spring 2020

The fashion show by Simon Porte Jacqemus, the French designer and founder of the fashion label Jacquemus, will thrill you with its flowery location. His models present his Spring collection on a catwalk that makes its way through a lavender field. The invited guests all sit on the edge of the front row of the show. The colours really describe the Spring theme, the colours blossom. You have the feeling of flower power in your head. He mixes a casual style with something chic and makes the clothes for it accessible to everyone.

Gucci Fall/Winter Fashion Show in Gold

The Italian fashion designer pulls out all the stops. Strikingly coloured garments and rivets, accessories such as golden ears, huge gold chains and long fur bowls magically attract the eyes of guests. The catwalk, which looks like luxurious marble and the golden lights, elevates the models on the runway into a royal sphere, as does the brand’s almost royal reputation among luxury brands. Gucci again shows that the size of his name is not unfounded. The colors of the fashion show don’t remind of Fall or Winter.

The Cruise – a time travel with Chanel

Chanel the luxury brand badly, invites the guests into a journey into the past. The location is reminiscent of a train station from the 80s. Get ready, Chanel will bring trousers back on the market with a long blow – only more elegant. The show is varied from grey to bright pink. Chanel also offers a wide and extensive range of accessories. From simple jewellery that hardly attracts attention to giant blue ribbons, the show offers a wide spectrum and many possible combinations. There is something for every taste. Chanel is proud of her name and shows us how timeless a design can be.

Versace Fall Fashion Show

It wouldn’t be Versace if you didn’t have a giant staple with her logo on it right in front of the catwalk. Versace remains faithful to his design, which the first model directly wears the well-known golden patterns on her dress. But also other outfits show this design. Golden details are a must-have for Versace. Famous models like Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid adorn the catwalk of Versace. Donnatella Versace remains true to her style. The location has a nearly 8 kind form, the guests are so distributed that there are hardly 2 rows. One has the feeling to be close to the model. The colours are daring, but Donnatella manages to create an outfit out of two biting colours that looks luxurious.

Anna K Runaway Fashion Show Fall / Winter

Directly the first model that came out showed me that Anna likes to work with other fabrics and has different ideas. Her transparent tops are extraordinary but still stylish. The looks she presents will attract the attention of the younger target groups of the fashion world. Their looks are not too unusual but different. Some of their looks are provocative but could become more appealing in the fashion world, especially with it-girls. The location is very simple, the colours are bluish.

Dior Fall/Winter Show 2019

An elderly lady opens the show in Italian, a slightly different kind of opening. The show takes place in a white-red chequered location. The style seems to have its muse in the past. Long skirts, chequered coats and hats covering the faces of the models seem to float over the catwalk. We from CM can see the details live in the first row. Sometimes a small clutch, then a handbag or rather a backpack. Dior doesn’t think much of clichés. Green seems to be the next fad. A colour that not everyone has in their wardrobe. But after the show I could imagine that many will change their mind.

Valentino Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2019/2020

Valentino invites us to a beautiful winter garden. The autumn/winter collection is presented by the models in coats and long robes, while the weather is wonderfully warm. If I had to describe the collection in one word, it would be ordinary. The style is for fashion-conscious buyers who also like to draw attention to themselves and put on an evening gown that might not be suitable for everyone. Valentino surprises with many different patterns and cuts. A small highlight are the expressive headdresses that the models wear on the catwalk. Also Gigi Hadid belongs to one of the well-known faces, which decorate the catwalk. An applause to Valentino, suitable location, suitable models and beautiful dresses. We are enthusiastic about the collection and the location.

Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2019/ 2020

Leather and long black leather boots draw our attention to the models on the catwalk. It couldn’t be more rocky. McQueen shows how stylish boots go with an elegant dress. Metallic coloured necklaces and earrings round off the Rockers style. Also the walk of the models is rather harder, the look strict. Leather jackets and leather distinguish the collection. Chequered and striped suits are once again becoming trendy here. But also pompous dresses are put into the right light by McQueen. For the location, the designer relies on a simple catwalk to set the point of view on the collection.

Givenchy Autumn/Winter 2019/ 2020

The motto of the first collection is Women’s Ready-To-Wear of the show and immediately it becomes clear what is meant. Women in long coats and blazers with wide shoulders will probably be a new one again. Givenchy also offers men a wide range of choices. The style is very simple, but still a little extravagant. The belt bag does not only fit to everyday clothes, Givenchy shows here. Also the belt on the coat looks very promising. Very important for the men: turtleneck and coat appear more and more on the catwalk. So if you want to wear the latest trend in winter, take a look at Givenchy.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring/ Summer 2019

Before the fashion show begins we are spellbound by the unique location. A huge golden wall with four mirrors reminds of the royal house. The catwalk in royal blue stretches out in front of it. For the eyes a spectacle, for the colour technique hardly a colour is omitted here. From golden suits to brightly coloured shirts and shorts, everything is on offer here. Mokkasins and private label sneakers are worn here to match the clothing. Cropped trousers are a must-have in every man’s wardrobe. Dolce & Gabbana’s collection creates a new fashion awareness for all generations and for many tastes. We at CM were delighted to have been at the Dolce& Gabbana Show.

Everyone should know the name Coco Chanel! The fashion icon has created a revolutionary fashion for women and led them from tight cuts to wide skirts. Initial scepticism quickly turned into raging applause and unconditional enthusiasm. Here you will find their history and the history of today’s luxury label!

The Story: Women’s Fashion from Paris

Chanel was founded by fashion designer and entrepreneur Gabrielle Chanel, also known as “Coco”. The Frenchwoman, who came from poor backgrounds, is still regarded today as an “outstanding personality in fashion history”. She was born on 19 August 1883 in Saumur, Pays de la Loire, as the second illegitimate daughter.

In 1913 she opened the first Chanel boutique in Deauville, France. At first, everyone was sceptical about the flowing and wide women’s fashion she produced, but gradually found more and more favour with her creations. She mainly created haute couture and prêt-à-porter, but was inspired by everything and everyone to create her works. Starting in the 1910s, Chanel pioneered a style of women’s fashion in the upper price segment that was untypically functional and casual at the time, dressing modern, stylish women. At that time, wide blouses, airy tops, calf-length skirts and wide-cut trousers belonged to her assortment and helped the women away from air-robbing and tight corsets, bodice dresses and stiff skirts. What was particularly important to her, however, was that her fashion proved to be practical for everyday use and did not restrict her freedom of movement. Equally important was the simple and elegant design, which was pleasant to wear.

“The little black one” – made by Coco Chanel

Style icons of the French label are the “little black”, padded leather handbags with quilted seams and metal link chains, Chanel costumes with bordered, collarless tweed jacket and flared skirt. Skillfully combined, all parts look super classy and add a touch of France to any look. The company logo adorns many parts, the two intertwined “CCs”. Equally striking are the classic combinations of black and white for which the company is known. Straight unusual patterns, or check variations stand strongly for Chanel.

Chanel No.5 – the most sold perfume in the world

In 1922, the classic perfume “Chanel No.5” appeared, which is now considered the world’s best-selling fragrance. In 1955, the company ventured for the first time to approach a men’s fragrance and called it “Chanel pour Monsieur”. In 1955 the next success followed and the handbag classic “Chanel 2.55” was presented, which since then has become an indispensable part of the wardrobes of today’s stylish woman.

Chanel: Now with Karl Lagerfeld

In 1982 Karl Lagerfeld took over the women’s collection of the luxury label. He is still said today to have been the one who transformed the company into an international billion-dollar group. One year later, on 5 February 1983, the first fashion show was held in Paris under his direction.

In the same year the German designer selected Inès de la Fressange as his muse, since then the beautiful Frenchwoman has also worked as a model for Chanel. However, in 1990 she was replaced by Claudia Schiffer, a model from Germany. From the 2000s onwards, more and more prominent faces were used in advertising for the label. Thus international beauties like Blake Lively, Keira Knightley, Nicole Kidman etc. modelled and it became more and more the privilege to work for the luxury company.

Today’s top models Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner also played a major role in the designer’s inspiration and Cara in particular inspired him a lot. In 2012 she was named “Face of the Year” by Chanel. Since then she has modelled for numerous large companies, such as Victoria´s Secret, Balmain, Dior, etc. and was even active as an actress and played for example in the film “Margos Spuren” one of the leading roles. All in all, Chanel’s work was a milestone for her and opened many doors for her.

Model and actress Penelope Cruz also took part in a Chanel show and commented on her Instagram Post with the words “What an honor it has been to walk the last show designed by Karl Lagerfeld”.

Since his death on February 19, 2019, his long-time associate Virginie Viard has headed the Lable. The French costume and fashion designer worked in about 30 years at the side of the deceased German designer, in the privately run company. Today Chanel produces not only chic Parisian fashion, but also high-priced watches, jewellery, glasses, accessories, perfume and cosmetics. In 2017 the total turnover of the luxury giant was estimated at approx. 9.62 billion US dollars. The company is located in Neuilly-sur-Seine and remains true to its origins and stands worldwide for absolute class and timeless elegance.

The same is true for the shoe models! The absolute favorites however are and remain the Espadrilles of Chanel. The light summer shoe looks super casual and gives every outfit a certain touch. But the sandal models also conjure up a beautiful, narrow foot.

Perfume and cosmetics

Especially in the last few years, the cosmetics line of the label with its high-quality make-up and care products has developed into the absolute highlight in the industry. In addition to classics such as the “Chanel Rouge Coco Lipsticks” in intense colours, the numerous fragrances that the label has brought to market over the years should not be missing. From a wide range of products, there is something for everyone!

When you think of the German fashion industry and internationally renowned fashion designers, one man immediately comes to mind: Karl Lagerfeld. The Hamburg-born fashion designer has fascinated the international fashion scene for 50 years and is present everywhere. His career started at a young age with a job as an assistant at Pierre Balmain. During his career he worked for the most influential fashion companies in the world: he designed for Jean Patou and the French fashion company Chloé. Since 1965 he has worked for the Italian fashion company FENDI and since 1983 for CHANEL. Karl Lagerfeld is not only a designer of fashion and jewellery, but also a photographer and costume designer. Lagerfeld is also considered the discoverer of the German supermodel Claudia Schiffer. Significant works for the biggest fashion companies in the world and the creation of always new ideas make Karl Lagerfeld the most imposing German fashion designer of our time.
